Hello all,

It has been suggested on several occasions that there be an offical Protege Club for Edmonton. I agree and have been thinking about this for some time now.

I'd like to kick start things, get the club going. Obviously I don't want to (nor do I think I should) do this on my own. But unless one person runs with it, I don't think anything will happen.

There are already a couple of members who have said they will be involved (beyond being a member), anyone else who thinks they have something to contribute is more than welcome. More help the better. I know that it was suggested that the idea of a Club be discussed at the October meet, but since some of the people who might be interested in starting the club might not be able to attend I thought that it should be discussed here as well.

I think at least initially there should not be the typical President, Vice President ...etc... roles. But instead divide responsibilities between several people (a Comittee). So I don't want anyone to think that I want to run things...I just want to be involved and get things started.

So lets hear your thoughts!

Okay, so no one wants to say anything. Hmmmm, it's not like raising your hand in class you know . You don't get in trouble here. Well okay maybe if you want to.

As Jay and I have already talked about this, we are bringing the inevitable to the forefront. We are almost a club now since we are planning events, getting together and sharing stuff. Boy, sure sounds like a club to me.

I'm in. Great, just what I need, something else to sap what little free time I have left.

Jay you know I'm in! we've talked a few times on this and I've talked to chris as well. I think that we should set up a time that everyone can meet and hammer out some details. I've had meetings with the owner here(Jarman) and he is ready to come on board with discounts and putting on events, but to an official club.

I'm in for an Edmonton club. I do alot of traveling over winter, but I would be glad to contribute as much as I can when available.
Plus I've got a deal going with a performance shop on the go already, he's just starting out and there not fully stocked as of yet but he can get anything in- Momo, Ractive, Aem, R1, Injen, Tenzo R, anything! The shops Extream Velocity, I'm getting cards from him on friday b4 the meet, so I'll give some out. He said he'll give the best prices in town for the club.
I'll fill in the details more at the meet.

what kind of responsibilities are involved? by that i mean what can we do to help out/contribute?

I'm glad to see so much interest!

Skyhawk174, Sandman, Mazda44 and I are discussing details about the club now. Once we come up with a frame work as to what the club is going to look like it'll be posted.

I beleive that the four of us are doing this for the good of everyone. Some people just needed to take the initative and get things going. Having said that, any suggestions or concerns will be listened to! So if you have (more) ideas let them fly! And I am sure that at the next meeting there will be lots of discussion, I'm just sorry that I will miss it.

bryce and i are in too! if anything needs to be done let us know. this is sooo weird..we were just discussing that a club needs to get started..im amazed bryce didnt bring it up on here...as for me i'll help where ever you need it and as for him he's a comp geek and would be happier than a pig in poop to help!
