Hi E,

I ordered my Michelin Pilot Alpins from Costco. That was over 3 weeks ago and they told me it would be like 6 weeks because of demand. Got a call yesterday that they are on the way. It seems my store got them shipped from Montreal. He also told me that Michelin has stopped producing the Alpins for the season. So you may want to check in at a Costco in Calgary if you are a member. I got a good price I think of $591 installed.

What brand of tires are you looking at? My gf got those cheap NordicTracs from CanTire for a little over 300 (IIRC) for her old Jetta. No new rims though.

Okay so my Pilot Alpins finally came in and I got them put on today. Did not have to go too far from the shop to home but it does feel a little different. Not much noisier but I will see how it sounds on the highway. The only thing now is that there is hardly any snow here in Edmonton so I could have waited a little longer I guess. Oh well they're on now. Really looking forward to see how they handle in the snow.

Hey Em, the Northill deal was pretty good overall I thought, especially if you can get the 15% off in addition. It was $120 per tire, and I think $60 per rim (probably the list price on the rims) and they werr good Toyo H rated winter tires (I think the kind Richard likes). It is certainly not 'cheap', but I thought it was pretty good value considering the next best price seems to be the michelin alpins (Q rated) for $17 more per tire.....

I am probably going to not get snows again this year though, what with all the nasty snow we have had so far

Dale.
