Calgary Protege Club???

Has anyone dealt with www.protege5online.com before? they got some nice stuff, but I dunno if they are the real deal. On their website they say that the P5 should be getting some Euro tails soon which would be sweet!

This is what I think....
I think before we go and get a website or anythin..we need to get a heiarchy thing going. Not so much as to having a president and vp..etc... but some senior members that will provide the foundation of the club. Say maybe 5 or so people that are the "official" members. Everyone else can join later. I see that most of us want a calgary site going. I don't think we need a site yet since we don't really have a large member base. We can still leech off of protegeclub. Plus, 99&00 is offering to create a subforum for us and I think that's sufficient for now. Since there is an abundance of tech info and general info already on this forum, I don't see why we would need another site. Maybe as the club gets bigger, a fee might be incurred so that we could all contribute to hosting the calgary club site.
Meets are pretty hairy to set up in Calgary from what I've seen. I've backed out of a few due to hectic schedules and work. I think the "official" members should clear a few hours each day of the month and have a gathering. At least this will have consistency and that guarantees the attendance. Everyone who can make it comes and for those who can't..oh well..maybe next time. The question is who is going to step up and volunteer their time and effort. I, unfortunately can't, since I work on a shift schedule and it constantly rotates.
Also, the question to members I've got is:
What are you looking for in a club? What do you want out of it? What do you think you should get out of it?
Well..as a 2am post...this is all that I can gather from this thread. I've put in my ideas. It's pretty damn long..WTF was I thinking?? Anyways..I'm off..L8RZ

wants and needs
As my experience in the past, lowrider club back home, car clubs are a good way to see other mods and gather experience from others with similar (make models) tastes in cars and mods. As far as going for cruises or shows, the cars have to be done out. My club back home was like that, no-one was even in the club if their car wasn't done out to the nines. I don't feel the need or see the need to go cruising with a bunch of stock cars, MINE included. All i've done is intake, speakers and shortshifter with **** so from a point of view thats good for the club and the cars, people don't want to see and would think WTF if a bunch of stock mazda's were cruizing around together.
BUT i would like to go to meets so i can meet, talk and experience what you guys have done and get ideas and thoughts from others as well.
And getting a registry going for discounts etc... is a good idea.
Just my thoughts not yours, i'm doug sports. lol

i'd be most interested in driving events and ****. hell, even if the club went go-karting or something. then you can talk **** *and* race safely.
i'm not interested in competing mod for mod with people or having a show car b/c i don't have the budget for that.
