I asked my Mazda parts guy this very question and he said that he only has access to what is in the Canadian parts system. Likewise the US only have access to what is in their system. Although I don't know of too much that is not included in the US version of our P5.

He did say however, that he will be bringing it up at the next regional meeting of the parts/service guys. He told me he has had a lot of requests for that rack.

Is it possible?

You live in Emonton, Alteberta, CAN.

It looks like you are only 4-5 hours from the border of Montana. I may be way off on the distance. Just about 500 kilometers.

Is there a way you could come across the border, buy the part from a Mazda dealer and then take it home?

I don't know if this is possible or even legal.

Just a suggestion.

thinking about going across the border, but it probably would cost me the same in gas as it would to ship it up ups, if i was to drive down probably just slap it on the roof b4 I come back to avoid duty.

If you look at that other thread (gee got to figure out how to post the link here) the guy who changed his from the US version to the CDN version went through a whole lot of work. He had to drop the roof liner to take out the US rack. May be something to think about. If you make the meet on Friday, I am bringing my rack so you can have a look.
