What's your opinion of gain vs cost? I'm not really famiiar with this process.
I don't want to throw away perfectly good money for a very small gain; I'd just as soon
install it as-is.
I might put a sticker on it, though!

in my personal experience the EH p&p is worth it. Here's what I know about it first hand...

I owned a 2000 Contour SVT it is almost identical a standard 2.5L V6 contour with the exception of the quasi-dual exhaust and the EH p&p intake manifold and heads. (and the ecu had some minor tweaks)...however it made over 30whp more than a standard 2.5L v6 duratec.

Also, EH uses what they call an "AFM". It's basically an abrassive putty that is forced into the manifold and run back and forth through the runners to simulate airflow....not just gut out whats there. Hand porting will cause variances in every area you do...they'll never be perfectly smooth and never be uniform across the whole manifold. With the EH it will be perfect throughout. It'll only remove the material that is in the way and nothing else.

Now as far as gain goes....this varies based on what you're starting with. If it's a rough casting you could probably see some good gains. If it's pretty well designed and made it may not be much.

just fyi, I plan on having all of my supercharger compressor housings done at about $120 each just to make sure.

Thanks Matty.
I'll need to investigate this a little more.
I'm not doing anything with the manifold till it gets warmer outside anyway.
Too cold to work in my garage on a half-day project.

no doubt but I think EH has a 4 week turn around time so if you want to get it done it would be wise to do it now so you're not waiting on it when it comes time to install it.

p.s. I swear by E.H. others do not. Whenever I've dealt with them they've been very honest and told me if certain jobs would not produce the gains I was looking for. They're not just out to take your money. They do quality work and demand quality pay. That's why so many OEM's use them for making pieces on their performance cars.
