Anyone go to the Chicago Auto show???

Somebody stole the flying "M" emblem off of the mazdaspeed pro. The Mazda section was pretty empty. The only people there were to check out the new RX-8, that car is soo sweet, especially for $33,000. I was really impressed with the new Mazda 6, but the new Miata's fit me like a glove. And how about the ford GT-40, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.

Hey, Pat--

I stopped by Tuesday on my way home from work (half-off admission for girls that day ).

I went mostly to check out the Mazda exhibit...liked the MSPro, didn't notice the missing emblem (maybe it wasn't missing yet?).

Sat in a 6...nice, but too big for me here in the city.

Listened to one of the Mazda Boys give the little RX-8 speech...nice car.

Other than that, didn't see much. Pete went last Saturday and got some pics of the MSPro...maybe he'll post 'em here.

MS3

I took a spitload of pics....

I don't know how to post them here. I will post at Yahoo if you like.

Regards,

Pete

The show was great, I'd have bought a MS3 if I had more money.

For the 2nd year in a row I missed the Auto Show
Have been pretty busy lately and that's why I didn't go, but next year I am there for sure.

Pete, you can upload the pics on Imagestation. Here's a link to a thread that explains how to do it.

I have quite a bit of pics taken at the auto show, posted a link to them here: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290622385

It was pretty fun, but I have to say i was disapointed with the MSPro, I expected a more orange color, not just a **** yellow like my shirt, I don't know if it was the lighting or what, but it didn't inspire me as much as other pics would have me belive. I was expecting it to look more like hte NSX, hence the lack of pics.

pcguy:

The colors for the 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege were Spicy Orange (500 produced) and Black Mica (1500). The Spicy Orange definitely looks orange.

The MSPro they had at the auto show was a 2003.5 refresh, in one of the two new colors: Blazing Yellow Mica (and you're right, it does look like your shirt. )

The other new MSPro color is Titanium Gray Metallic.

it was different

It was an awesome show! My first time ever going, and I loved it! I noticed that the MSPro has a new spoiler and a new front bumper on it. It was nice though. i got pix too, but haven't had a chance to put any up yet.

I dunno, maybe I'm just a picky sob.
I wasn't imperessed by the show this year. I went on Sun. it was almost to crowded to enjoy it.
It was kinda strange the ms was all by itself hidden away
but the panos esperanza cut away car was pretty darn cool!

I went on Sat, I didn't think it was as good as in the past. And it was really crowded. Mazda really wasn't that busy, just the little kids jumping in and out of the Miata's.

Mazda just wasn't showing it off like the other dealers were. I mean, yeah the rx8 is nice, but look at subaru and mitso: the sti wrx and the evoVIII..... come on, be proud that you have turboed a compact. I went on friday with my Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) group from Northern. I talked to one of the girls at the mazda section. I asked for one of the mazdaspeed polos under the glass. She thought about it for a while, then said, if I give you one, I have to give everyone one. I said no you dont. She said well I have something for you. I am thinking cool, al right. She goes over to the locked trunk of a pro and gets in her purse. I am thinking to myself, is she getting me a phone nymber, what's the deal. SHe digs around in there and pulls out a peuter flying M pin. OK not a polo, but hey, i got a flying M tie tack and you didn't.
