When you say coffee can, I think of a round-body muffler with a 4.5" single-wall tip.

I have a oval-body Magnaflow racing series muffler with a double-wall (chrome finished stainless steel inside and out) 4" tip, and it looks great on my car. It fits the cut-out in the bumper perfectly. The shop that did it did a great job, there's about a 1/4" gap all the way around.

I'm not sure if the cut-out on the 2nd gens is the same. Maybe someone else can comment.

I would recommend against putting a DTM underneath a half-round cutout.
