Anyone in arizona want to start a protege club.... regional.. yeah...

but im serious, i have no real friends, i need friends!!!!!!

I would be interested, I live in south Chandler.

Well would you guys like to do it as a Protege only club, or just a all around car club? I lke the idea of proteges only because then we can exchange ideas about our car, and we will have more collective experience. Although i have alot of friends who would like to be in a car club, but do not have proteges, what do you guys think? I'll setup a bulliten board online when we decide.

:( i just moved from santa barbara, california to tucson, arizona... and while in tucson, i have seen about 10 protege 5's, but no one seems to be on this board! what's going on? i have these neighbors with a silver MP5, but they are in their mid 30's and have no interest in the car other than it functions. there are supposedly these three MP5's that are owned by these two guys who work at ultra performance, but i haven't seen their cars yet. oh well. ....i feel so all alone, there's no one besiiiiide me.... (think Shrek)... :(

Just bought an '02 ES last saturday. I'm interested in a local club. I raced formula cars and slalomed and rallied Hondas in the early eighties. I have experience putting on TSD rallies and slaloms. I work sundays but let me know whats going on

ARIZONA PROTEGE MEET!!!

We will be having an informal meet at the Pavilions in Scottsdale (Indian Bend and Loop 101 in East Scottsdale) at 6:00 this Saturday evening (Nov 16th). No dues or anything like that - just bring your car! Any Mazda will do - although we really want to see those Proteges! RM Racing has offered to provide food, drinks and t-shirts. We can hang out at the Pavilions for an hour or so and then head up to RM Racing up in the Scottsdale Airpark and talk shop. Hey all - there's going to be another meet on Jan 18th. This is going to be a bigger, combined event with Ford Foci, Honda S2000, and others. Here's a quote from Jason at RM Racing who is helping us coordinate the event:

"Please let them know that there will be awards for each type of vehcile (S2000, Focus, Protege) as well as best use of RM Racing Products and best of Show. We will also give away door prises and it will be much bigger and better than the first. I have Lou Grubb and Earnhardt's bringing new vehicles for display, maybe a MacClaran, Hummer, our 360, NSX and 996. GHL will be here to display and talk, etc"

I'm going to try and get my exhaust put on and my roof rack strips removed before that show if you guys want to see how that looks up close... nothing big, but HEY it's somethin ;)

As the weather heats up in Phoenix you can always head up north. I have beautifully cool weather all summer lomg.


Hwy 89A from Prescott to Jerome then up to Sedona ending in Flagstaff is just begging for a bunch of Protege's on any given Sunday.

Northern Az Drive
 

I am in the process of getting a Northern Az mountain drive going.

Right now there are about 5 people with Protege's that have confirmed for a drive from Prescott to Jerome, Sedona & Flagstaff.

It is Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 10 AM @ Denny's Restaurant, 7925 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Az

Don't know if i'll be able to make it but just an idea for those who do, FRS radios would be pretty cool so you could communicate as you drive. Just a suggestion

Couldn't have been my car, or shouldn't have been my car.

My MP5 has been at Galpin since 5/19/03 collecting dust. I have been going rounds with Tim & Mark in the Service Dept.

My Check engine light came on on the 12th and have been dealing with Galpin ever since.

I'll tell you all about it at the car meet on Sunday.

Oh, I saw a red MP5 driving south on 69 leaving PV tonight and it wasn't driven by somebody in their 70's either.

Oh- yea. This forum is kind of dead as far as Arizonans go. www.protege5.com is very active for arizona people.

There is a BBQ in Chandler this Sunday the 26th and there is a fun run up the mountain on 11/30/03. There is also a Route 66 3 day fun run/car show in April. We are also in the process of starting an Arizona Mazda club called Arizona MAZDASPORTS.

You are invited to all of these events.

Yo....Wassup everyone. Im fairly new to the AZ area, Im from GA but was brought here by the military (army). I own a midnightblue 02 p5. I was deployed to Iraq shortly after getting to Ft. Huachuca so I really dont know anyone. I have done a few things to my car but Im ready for more. I look forward to getting up with more protege owners as well as any import owners. Im still in Iraq but I hope that you all will welcome me in and keep me posted on what AZ has going on. Im ready to show the import scene that there are other hot cars out there that are not an eclipse or a honda. 1LOVe..DONe :cheers:

I've owned my '02 LX for about 2 months now, I already threw in a little system for ridin around N workin.. Pioneer deck with 3way 6x9 N 6x8s with 2 Audiobahn 12"s boxed in the back (powered by a 1200 watt fosgate amp I had layin around) I am still looking into physical upgrades before I buy.. I am closer to casa grande than anything but I drive up to mesa almost daily.. anyone out there wants to check it out or meet up lemme know
