What to do in FLA

I'm gonna be down in FLA around dec. 22-jan. 2 and I'm just wondering what there is to do. Not necessarily car related, like what are the good nightclubs and everything? I'll be in the bal harbor/Aventura area. Also, I won't have my car down there, but I'll have access to a car, so if there are any meets goin on and I'm not to busy, wouldn't mind checkin it out.

Thanks for any help,
Shayne

Bal Harbor/Aventura is North Miami Beach I think? Either way it's like a 20min drive to south beach just to give you an idea. Thanks again.

there is the aventura mall, south beach like you mentioned, bayside in miami with hard rock cafe and cruises along the bay and celebrity's houses, sawgrass mills mall and maybe you might catch a hockey game right next to it in the arena. they are also shooting f&f2 all over the place, depending on the day you can walk in on the set and be an extra
what else? coconut grove cocowalk, miami seaquarium, everglads national park, you might also want to check out ft.lauderdale downtown riverfront, las olas blvd and the strip (ft.lauderdale beach). there is a huge car show (imports and domestics, classics) at tower shops in davie every friday 6-11pm
can't think of anything else. there is really nothing here to do. miami is pretty boring and people suck. if you don't speak spanish might as well not even go out.

I hear it's pretty hard to come by in other places. Like Oklahoma. :darin:

Hey Dima, thanks for the info. Just to clarify a bit, I have a lot of family down there, so I've been going for the holidays every year for the last 18 or so. So I know aventura mall, and coconut grove and the area a bit, but rarely go to fort lauderdale so that might be an idea. The thing is though, I don't know anyone down there my age so I mostly go shopping and to the beach, which is only old people in bal harbor. Little things like the car show every friday are cool to know about, and where are all these celebrity homes?

Anyways, I also ask about the clubs, because it will be the first time I'm 21 down there(I hate how strict they are in the states, hehe) so I'd like to check it out. Where are the best one? South Beach, downtown maimi, fort lauderdale?

So basically I'm just lookin for some inside info from the people that live down there, thanks.

Oh, and yeah it sucks having my bday then, kinda hard to celebrate when everyone else is mourning.

bayside is located in downtown miami. that's where a lot of the charter boats leave from and they just take you for a ride around the bay and the many small islands between miami beach and miami. btw, if you are gonna buy tickets remember that the person selling is on commision so he can knock down the price a few bucks especially if not a lot of people bought tickets.

best clubs are in south beach along washington but it might be very hard to get it. while driving through south beach don't do anything stupid in your car or with your car. usually there are a lot of cops and considering that its going to be xmas and new years, there will be even more.

there are some good clubs spread around in the ft.lauderdale area. take i95 north and depending on traffic you are in ft.lauderdale in less than half an hour. get off on broward and go east (right), riverfront is going to beon andrews av (IIRC) south of broward blvd. some club are just west of the tracks.

if you continue on broward you get to US1 road. go south and turn left on las olas (if you are going through riverfront the road will turn into las olas) keep going east untill you get to the beach. thats the strip and there are a few club there. others are spread around. if you listen to 93.1, 100.7, 96.5 you can hear a lot of commercials and they'll tell you where and which club stuff happening. if celebrities are in any club than you'll see on the news and paper but harder to get in.

car show is on i595 and university drive (west of i95) in ft.lauderdale. i95 north to 595 west and get of on university drive and make a left. second signal is tower shops but now that i think about it there might not be anyone there because of holidays. our club is there every friday. if you wanna hang out with us just gimme a call when you are here(954-562-2705) and we'll go do something.
