Are there any Speed Shops/Tuner Shops in New Orleans?

Anyone know of any of these New Orleans? What I'm specifically looking for is interior accessories (a good selection), pedals, shift *****, e-brake handles, ... that kind of thing. I really want to get in and physically see these things before I spend the money.

Hey arkos, you from New Orleans? Didn't realize there was more of us on here. As far as shops go, there is Sonic Boom, Xcess, and a few others. If I remember right Sonic Boom is out in Metarie, and Xcess is right off of I-10 in the east, i think the chef mentuar exit. I have really visited any of these, I have gotten the few things for my car online. There is also a few shops on the west bank.

Naw, my sister lives there and we'll be going to her house over Christmas. My SO and I are going to be buying each other some presents, and I really want a shift ****/e-brake ****/pedals.

here's a note I posted in a diff thread:

What I was looking for was an "auto parts" store with a fairly large RETAIL area. I ended up going to Alamo Motorsports. that was NOT what I was looking for. I am NOT looking for the shop that has a 3'x6' hallway with a register on one end, and 1 freakin glass case full of nothing but PIAA lights and one single shift **** display. What I want is something more to the likings of Pepboys or Autozone (size wise), but much more inline with the Sport Compact Scene. Something that actually has MOMO and SPARCO on display IN the store, ...

Are any of the stores you mentioned of a fairly good size, or do you not know?

yeah, illusions = if you're looking for parts, new orleans isn't really the place to look. like mark said, the internet is our best source of parts out here. let us know when you come down, and we'll all get together. there's a few of us that hang out on pretty much a weekly basis. we find ANY excuse to have a meet.

nice to see you made it over here edwin (VTEC KILLER). representin' the rolla boys!

it's gonna be hard to find a fairly large store (like autozone size) anywhere with tons of items in the store on display for imports. the overhead for the store would be outrageous, and they probably wouldn't be able to stay in business long.

Hey guys, I stopped by Royal Mazda again tonight to check out the new Mazda 6s they have. They have a couple more in stock, including a Laser Blue and Silver "sporty" package. It looks VERY nice! I love the Laser Blue. They also have a silver w/o the spoiler, which looks plain IMO. I guess they sold the plain yellow one they have a couple of weeks ago, since I didnt see it.

Tell me what you guys think.

there was a dark red one at the mall today from don ducote mazda, and i still wasn't very impressed. i'm sure the laser blue one looks a LOT nicer than the other colors i've seen it in so far. i still haven't seen a non-base model one in person though.

ARKOS, don't forget to let us know when you're in town, and we'll all hang out.
