nah its ok....on the 2002's you can remove the corner reflector lights, so they'll be "crystal" like the p5's are....i know for your car they sell them separatly but for the '02 you can either remove them some wierd way (oven thing) or you can buy the p5's

Yeah, the 2001 and up have the side markers build into the headlamp assembly, it's all one piece. The problem with this mod is a legal concern I believe. If i'm not mistaken, that amber corner piece you want to remove is a front side reflector, if you remove it, I believe you can be ticketed for not having a front side reflector. If you have a Pro w/ the sidemarker on the fender (separate piece) you might be ok if it's reflective. All in all, I don't know if anyone in the Tampa area has tried this mod. From what I remember, taking the headlamp apart isn't the hardest part, it's putting it back together so it doesn't leak. I might be trying something radical soon. I received some ispiration from ghost's post you referred too. I want to remove the turnsignal that is between the headlight and the grill, and replace it with a lens from a small fog light, and use it as an extra light for when the high beams are on. Not sure how I'm going to go about doing it, but I'll let you know. I think I'll start by seeing if i can get a spare headlight assembly from a junkyard before I go and hose mine.

I did this mod to my tinuron it's headlight is practically the same. It's not illegal as long as you put an orange bulb in. To take it apart you can either heat it up in an oven ( i havent dont it this way seems iffy to me) Or the way i did it was to use a hair dryer or a heat gun and just heat long the seal and run a screw driver or like an exacto knife in there to cut the seal. Then to put it back together you just buy some silicon sealant from like home depot and make sure you seal it up with a lot or else theyll leak I also keep the old seal stuff in there and heat it back up to seal it that seems to help. I've done this 4 times now because i was in an accident and had to redo them and I've also done them for some friends.

Question

Are you sure FL Law doesn't require you to have a reflector on the front and rear sides of your car? If it doesn't then I'd say go for it!

I just looked thru the FL Driver's Handbook and couldn't find anything on side reflectors...so may not be a legal problem, I'd suggest investigating it before you do it...as I don't think there is any new car that comes without front and rear side reflectors.
