Mt Cheaha Weekender Festivus 2007

June 8-10 Cheaha State Park

This is the one I look forward to putting on all year long. Those that have been around know what goes on. Those that are Weekender virgins will be in for a good time. Here are some simple details... everything is dependent on how many people actually show up and follow through.

Friday 5pm
arrival at the park
tent set-up
CEREMONIAL MARSHMALLOW ROAST

Saturday
morning starts AFTER 9am (barry)
we'll gather at the rental site as we wait for everyone to show
CRAWFISH BOIL!!! ~~ I'm planning on about 100lbs of live crawfish to feed 40-ish people. This is why I need solid headcounts. I can't waste $200 in food.
First mountain cruise
Pictures, vids, shenanigans
In the afternoon we'll help set up the stragglers tents
Dinner will be a cruise-in to Oxford for sushi and other grub
Sat night will consist of a ton of drinking back at the campsite by our big fire....yarn will be spun, shit will be talked.

Sunday

Pictures, videos, etc
Hobo Grill for lunch, JoyceAnn and Tyler to help with cooking duties both days.
campsite tear down by 11am I believe (have to check with park again)
Party ends around 2-3pm as people have to drive home.

What to bring:

Tent
sleeping bag
pillow
clothes
toiletries
MONEY - we will need gas and food money as well as paying for the camp site unless I handle that all in advance.
Food (if you'd like to help out with grub let me know)
digital cameras and camcorders

What NOT to bring:

WATER BALLOONS - bastards
nitro race fuel for RC cars
drugs of any kind....booze is fine by me but I'm not going to jail for any of you punks.
Bad attitudes / hangups / inhibitions

I'm working right now to procure a FTP for everyone to upload their pictures, videos, audio to me directly here. I'm going to compile the footage of everything and publish it into a DVD for everyone (for a small fee). It may not be the greatest but it'll be ours...and if it were great then it wouldn't be GACC now would it?

Roddimus Prime March-8th-2007 02:33 PM

ask luke about the last meet...there is nothing upscale about any of it!

I do think everyone had a good time making hobo's so I'm going to do that again....about 30lbs of ground hamburger meat, 5 cans of potatos and carrots and beans, 20 boxs of aluminum foil...yum yum.

after we're done we end up throwing the leftovers at eachother.

Jackelope March-8th-2007 02:54 PM

food fight! sedans vs wagons! haha

what are hobos? do you just mix it all up and roll it in the foil and put it on the grill?

With all this food fight talk, you think you'd actually be up for that sploshing action that someone wants you to try. :yelrotflm

Roddimus Prime March-8th-2007 05:32 PM

yeah, take the meat and form a patty, then put the patty on a big aluminum pouch. Dump the veggies on top of it and throw it on the fire for about 10-12minutes....right on the coals.

it's pronounced SLOSHING....and no way in hell.

g0pher March-8th-2007 09:37 PM

i'm bringing a chef with me btw :)

so are there any beer snobs coming? i don't want to be stuck drinking bud light! if anyone is coming from out of state... please bring a lovely beer called Delirium Tremens. it's so awesome and alabama won't allow us to get it. i'll be happy to reimburse whoever brings it!!!

Roddimus Prime March-8th-2007 09:39 PM

do they sell it in GA? We often do beer swaps for the GA guys. Yeungling is hard to get in GA. Maybe you could work out a trade.

g0pher March-8th-2007 09:42 PM

yup! they sell it in good ol georgia. i always go to one of the vortex bars in atlanta and get it every time i'm there. i'd really like to try sweet water's happy ending... so maybe a trade will be in order!

RacerXGirl March-9th-2007 10:00 AM

I'm not a beer drinker, but tried Yeungling and it's actually quite tasty...maybe we can work up a Sweet Water for Yeungling trade!

g0pher March-9th-2007 10:40 AM

consider it done! and racerxgirl... are you the girl with the orange msp?

Roddimus Prime March-9th-2007 07:41 PM

no no, you're thinking of "SKREET SKREET"....hahah I don't think she's around anymore. She was my Haagendaaz hook up...I tried to get Miller to date her so I could get free ice cream but he wouldn't do it!

g0pher March-10th-2007 12:47 AM

lol... skreet skreet? and hell, free ice cream?!?!? how could mr. chicken pass that up?

RacerXGirl March-10th-2007 04:33 PM

Nada performance-wise yet, though we've started a wish-list for it. It does have a turbo timer, some HIDs and amber sidemarkers. Other than that, she's bone-stock...

Jackelope March-12th-2007 01:49 PM

^ guess mine is "lightly" modded

g0pher March-13th-2007 09:31 AM

mine was insane... but never completed. wagner s/b and head, hiboost fmic, mbc @ 12psi, fcd, fpr, full 3" tbe, c/d and slotted rotors, lots of other stuff. a lot more was to be added (disco potato, fuel management, etc) but i got owned hardcore by the company responsible for the upgrade process... oh well!

Jackelope March-13th-2007 10:46 AM

nothing NEAR that much, apex downpipe / cat removed / aerospeed muffler / kartboy shifter bushings / kartboy exhaust hangers / awr motor mounts / cone filter / CC clutch / soon to have napa rotors / greenstuff pads / yellow calipers :)

RacerXGirl March-13th-2007 01:50 PM

I definitely foresee brakes in the future...maybe when I do those, I'll throw some stainless lines on too...

sounds like you're off to a good start :) i too had the awr mounts (front and rear). it's awesome being able to drive a car and get a back massage from the vibrations at the same time!

Jackelope March-14th-2007 10:49 AM

just need a louder stereo so i can actually hear it.. :)

Just replace the stock Kenwood sub with a JL 8w3v2 and you won't believe the difference. I have the MSP setup in my P5 and that little sub ROCKS!! Granted the P5 is a hatch so you can hear the sub better, it should still produce a pretty hefty kick in the trunk of your MSP too. That's probably the most economical stereo upgrade you can do without replacing everything else.

Jackelope March-14th-2007 12:14 PM

dont have the stock sub enclosure anymore, sold it to jdm-p5 :) - but i do know what jls sound like.. had 3 10w6's in my '88 stang
