thats what I'm saying... I tried very hard to get as many people here as possible but it isn't as high on everyone elses priority list as it is on mine.

I look forward to this all year....its dissappointing to think your friends dont want to come out and spend time with you.

_Kansei_ June-4th-2007 06:57 PM

If it wasn't this weekend I'd do it, totally serious. I'm still burnt from the 16 hour drive home from the auxone meet. I don't know why it seems like barely anyone is willing to make a long drive for Mazda meets, it's not like we're as prevalent as the Toyota Camry where any given town could have a meet with like 800 cars if they wanted (you know.. if there was such a thing as an enthusiast driving a Toyota).

macdaddyslomo June-4th-2007 07:26 PM

I'd love to go, but it's a SERIOUS drive, and we just DON'T have the money...me and the wife are buying our first house very soon, plus I have to stay home with the kids friday

Roddimus Prime June-4th-2007 09:42 PM

I can understand someone from Florida and Conneticut not making the drive but someone 1.5 hours away thats had a 3 month notice??

I take it as an insult...probably too personally.

probably ;)

It'll be fun dude. Just don't dwell on the numbers. Quality > quantity, right? (probably not helping....)

Side note: OMG the GACC / FAGMOB smiley! :gay:

that should be this forum's motto.

mazda3club.com: where the admins/mods actually drive mazdas and shit lol

personally I like this smiley :chomper: I don't know why though.

crushedbumper28 June-5th-2007 03:51 AM

its not that i don't want to come, and i know we had three months, but shit always seems to come up when i want to do something. i mean i was supposed to come to alabama wednesday night pick up my miata and stay with my grand dad until friday. now i have to help my sister with some dumb baseball team party my mom had surgery the friday before last and was supposed to be better by this past weekend, but shes not. so i'm going to stay home to make sure shes ok. so i might come to bham late sat. night and get my miata then maybe i could meet up with everyone or something sunday.

Jackelope June-5th-2007 05:56 AM

now I have an issue w/ this weekend, my wife has to work Friday(11 hours) / Saturday (10 hours) and we cant find a babysitter! doh! Regular babysitter will be gone to the drag strip (cant really take a 3 month old drag rac'n) haha

g0pher June-5th-2007 06:58 AM

i'll be there :) i have to work friday... (we are breaking away from the domain forest) so the migration will take some time. i'm suppose to be there all weekend, but i'm the security specialist... not the damn network admin... so they should have that covered. and even if they don't... they can all go to hell, i've had this planned for a while :)

matty... what time are you heading up there friday? i might want to follow you if i can get out of work early enough...

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 09:04 AM

I don't think it's personal Matty - I think that life just interferes with the plannings.

I reserved the pet sitter for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday to the tune of $119.00. Oy...

I'll PM you the food suggestions I've been working on today.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend.

And I definitely appreciate the shade that will be provided by the pavillion! You know how redheads/daywalkers/gingerkids burn easily. :)

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 09:11 AM

Which reminds me, we need to make a list of what to bring...including my SPF Eleventybillion sunscreen. :p

breaking away from the domain forest? have a fuckin blast man haha.

Just tell them you can be 'on call' but can't physically come in or somethin.

JA -- ouch, didn't realize pet sitters were so pricey! I should get into that business, I love animals. Hell, bring your animals to me and I'll watch them for 5 dollars..

you've got a P5, just throw them in the back (worst wagon for pets to hang out in evAR with that rear glass slope) and take them with you. State park = fun for doggies = entertainment for everyone :) win-win

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 09:54 AM

They'll be better off at home. Rocky is an older boy and can't be outside for all day...and Maisy would either be playing 75# lapdog or be barking at anyone acting goofy...which would equal a lot of barking.

_Kansei_ June-5th-2007 10:05 AM

maybe Maisy has gaydar and is just barking at all the GACCination lol

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2007 10:36 AM

JA, I need to get a menu from you so I can go shopping. I'm picking up charcoal, plates, silverware, drinks (bottled water mostly), aluminum foil, canned veggies, 15lbs of hamburger meat, etc

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 11:22 AM

How does this sound:

Lunch/Dinner:
Brats/Sausage
Pork Tenderloin - 2 should be more than enough; one may be fine
Stuff for Hobos (?)
Vidalia Onions
Butter
Sweet Potatoes or Regular Potatoes
Corn on the Cob

Breakfast:
Eggs
Bacon
Bread
Orange Juice

Dessert:
Marshmallows
If anyone wants s'mores: graham crackers and chocolate
Pound cake (for grilling)

Snacks:
Chips - regular or tortilla
Salsa
Trail Mix.

I'm new to this camping cooking, but we did fare well at Road Atlanta/Petit this past year. Feel free to edit/pare down/change.

:)

(is your sweetheart going to be attending at all???)

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2007 12:16 PM

I don't know how much breakfast cooking we'd do but I can see about getting some eggs and stuff....bacon will be hard to cook ona fire without some sort of tools/rack.

Did anyone agree to bring anything for this weekend or planning on chipping in for fodd and what-not? It would help if we could get a phone chain going and everyone bring one thing or something.

Kendra won't be coming out yet again....she doesn't like the outdoors...she's afraid a leaf might fall on her tiara.

_Kansei_ June-5th-2007 12:18 PM

george foreman grillzzzz + honda diesel generator = ftw haha

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2007 12:20 PM

I have to fit a 12 man tent and an igloo cooler in the trunk of the MS6...I don't have room for a generator or a foreman.

Jackelope June-5th-2007 12:25 PM

I'm bringing my banner, that count? haha, I'll chip in cash wise towards well.. whatever... ;)

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 12:53 PM

We're bringing the combo cooler/grill I think. It has a flat griddle section on it. It was invaluable during Petit (thank you GA Matt!). Let me know what you're picking up for sure and then I'll ask the guys from our group to either pick some stuff up or chip in money. I know everyone is tight on funds (including us), but sharing is caring...at least in regard to food costs! :D

aMaff June-5th-2007 01:34 PM

no probalo, let me know what I owe :)

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2007 01:51 PM

well, if everyone would just volunteer to bring something I'll pick up the rest of whatevers left over.

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 02:12 PM

Yep - I think the volunteering to pick up food goods is a better way to do it. Then there's no worries about not having enough cash or whatever.

RacerXGirl June-5th-2007 02:14 PM

I'll check back in a bit and see who else has posted that they'll pick something up - I think if we cross-post this into that "other" forum we can get some folks that read the boards over there to take care of some items on the list.

do you guys want any Yuengling beer since you can't get it there? Or just wanna wait and pick it up when we all get here?

Are we gonna go cruising for the ricer hangout again on saturday night? That was a blast last time.

Uh...I wasn't there but sounds fun ;)

Roddimus Prime June-5th-2007 10:06 PM

we went rolling into town in a big caravan and found some stupid parking lot full of hondas. The fastest / badest-ass car there was a bone stock 05 WRX. the owner wouldn't race us because "his race tires were back home".

what a pussy fart.

I hope to see the same losers out this time as well. this is my last hoorah in the MS6 and I feel like getting fast on some people.

aMaff June-5th-2007 10:34 PM

Nice. Sounds like a good time ;)

Jackelope June-6th-2007 05:57 AM
