Central Florida Protege Club?

After seeing that there are quite a few Protege owners in this general area and other areas of the country have groups set up, I was wondering how many might be interested in starting our own group in this area? Have meets, help others out with mods/install, local message board/website, etc. Basically just a friendly place to meet and talk to other in our area. It could also be a platform to getting more people on to this forum. I figure this could include Orlando/Daytona/Gainseville/Ocala/Lakeland and all areas in between.

Just reply here with suggestions and any thoughts. Once we get something up and running, then spreading the word could be as simple as business cards (like have been mentioned in other posts) and most likely, word of mouf' (in the words of Ludacris ).

Let me know

FYI, I just threw a post up at protegemp3.com forums to see if we can get others interested.

Anyone know of other forums or websites we can infiltrate with this info?

I'm in Orlando (East Side)

and orlando area. and me in deland.
BlueLedz, I lived in DeLand for 13 years and graduated from DHS.

How long have you lived there? Where do you live. My parents still live there off McGregor Road.

I Live in Port Orange while my house is under construction in DeLand. I'll meet. Would love to see what everyone's doing before I spend money on mods! Had a crown vic once, mods galore! That beast was fun to slide around corners!

Somewhere with a decent and lighted parking lot would be nice. I'll drive around Saturday and see what I find. If you see a white P5 going way too fast or sideways, wave! I'll be the nut loose behind the wheel.
I traded a Lincoln LS8 for this car and aside from the sound system, no freaking regrets. Build quality and treatment from the dealership is better too.

Thumbs up

Saturday night sounds good. I'll be the dude in the White P5. I am recently divorced so I don't have a pot to **** in, but my ex sure does! You sound like you know your stuff about the mazdas so I am interested to hear your thoughts on what mods will give me the most bang for the buck.

-SNIP- i like it here.- SNIP-SNIP-it's not everyday you meet someone from deland. most never leave-SNIP
It's nice, quiet and laid back. Had to move to Orlando for work. The I-4 Drive was killing me everyday. I got married, too, and I couldn't talk my wife into selling her house and moving to Deland. I couldn't possibly understand why?!?!

Where you moving to in Deland buzz?

It's almost sounding like DeLand would be a good meeting place.

30 minutes from Orlando, 30 minutes from Daytona!

Well, lets see.

There is the old Publix Shopping plaza in the corner of Plymouth Ave and Woodland Blvd.

The old K-Mart Plaza on Woodland Blvd.

They have a classic Car show at the West Volusia Regional shopping center on Fridays by the Winn-Dixie so I don't see a problem on Saturdays with late model imports.

I think a Meet/Show would be cool on Indiana Ave by the old courthouse. It is brick paved and wide enough to park diagonally against the curb and still have room to drive through the middle to get to a parking spot.

BlueLedz, any ideas?

I'm moving to DeLand because of it's access to Daytona (where I work) and Orlando (where I may be transferred). When I-4 is done, I expect property values to go UP big time! I gambled like this in Biloxi MS and did pretty good.
I think DeLand should have some great places to meet. Of course, we do have a Hooters in Daytona if that won't offend anyone. I hooked up with Blueledz' club Saturday. Seemed like a bunch of good guys ready to take their cars to the next level. It's an open club, i.e. not just Mazdas. They even have an old VW bug!

Id like to meet but I think here in Orlando would be a great place to meet. Mainly cause then we could all cruise downtown or through Idrive or something. Also I have talked to several people down here that have Pros and would love to meet up. That would be a great sight to see "20 -30 P5's and such all in a row crusing though downtown"
