I just feel like something like that should be included in a 'terms of service'. The rules that one must agree to before registering really don't outline any of the policies and procedures..

I for one wouldn't register on a forum that has that little trust in its members.

Well you can.. just temp-ban if you need it, permaban if you really, seriously need it. With a user base the size this forum has, a system to automatically restrict/ban users just seems like over-policing

i think spam seems to be more of a problem than unruly members .. "unruly members" thats funny...

anyway... heck, in other forums we would get 'temp bans' for going off topic... for example... this discussion under '06 Mazda Festivus

It works. Mod sees spammer. Mod places temp ban on spammer so he/she/it stops creating threads, admin deletes account.

It won't stop the initial 'attack,' but it helps stop it cold.

99.9999% of spam users just make their single post and leave though, right? just deleting the thread and banning them later on does the trick.

I don't even know who can give infractions. I can't, even in the subforums I moderate (where I can just.. delete the spam threads.. if there were ever any)
