Central Florida...Help

To all members in the Central Florida area. Where are the best places to live around there. I may be relocating there in the near future. Thanks.

Well it depends where you are going to work. I live in Metro west and I love it. Right in the middle of everything.

yeah, alot depends on what you are looking for.
Like...
1. Do you have a family?
2. Do you want to party alot?
3. How much do you want to spend?
4. Apartment or Home?
5. Age?
6. Are schools an issue?
7. Are you going to have an office somewhere?
etc...

Bingo. I live in East Orlando nea UCF. I like it a lot. Houses aren't too expensive. You are close to a few of the main roads that can get you just about anywhere. I am 5 minutes from the East-West expressway that will take you from East Orlando to West Orlando in about 20-30 minutes. 5 minutes from the Greenway that will send you through 3 counties in about 30 minutes, and Interstate 4 is about 15-20 minutes on the East-West Expressway that will take you from Daytona Beach to Tampa.

To give beter advise we know kinda what you are looking for.

Woo-Hoo. Another member for the CFLProtege club!

Thanks for the replies. I do have a family and I'm looking for a house in the $150,000 to $175,000 range. Good schools are an issue.

CollegePark area is nice. Easy access to I-4 and back roads. Quiet areas, older homes and neighborhoods. I didn't have kids when I lived there (97-98) but I had a real nice time. Lots of mature trees too. You may have to fix up the house you purchase though...

For that price you can consider the Hunters Creek Area or maybe the Waterford Lakes Area or maybe even the Lake Mary Area. Lake Mary is a little north of Orlando, but it is a nice area. All three of these area have good schools and nice homes.

So, when you moving down here? Another new member of the Central Florida Chapter of the ProtegeNetwork?

I live in Winter Park (across the street from Orlando) and I think it's a great place to have my family. 15 min from downtown if you dig that sort of thing, 2 blocks from a big lake, good school in the neighborhood. One of the things I think makes my area better then say Metro West or UCF is that it is an older neighborhood with individual houses built in the 50's. Not a pre-fab cookie cutter development. If that's what you're looking for then that's cool too. But if not, I would suggest College Park or even some of the downtown areas like Thorton Park or Colonial Town.

Hey,
Well I live in Maitland/Winter Park,
Its a very nice and quiet place, the schools are awesome a lot of people in there 50's live around here. Some of the houses can run from 150k to about 750k but in general I think if you are really looking for good schools and a nice neighborhood this is the right place to live in. It also depends where you are going to work. WinterPark and Maitland are about 20 minutes from Downtown. Well I hope that this helps
