CAI Mods...

Anyone out there ever wonder if the air flow getting to the air filter on our CAI's is not enough? I was thinking about cutting a hole in the lower part of the fender lining and fitting a mesh type grille in place to feed more air to the intake. From looking at the inside of that space in front of the wheel while installing my Injen intake, I noticed there's not much of an opening anywhere for air to get to the intake. Thoughts anyone?

it gets plenty of air, trust me... there's holes that lead in there that feed it good. i wouldnt cut anything out, or do the ducting thing, because you're just exposing it to more harsh road **** like water and all that. we've discussed the water thing, but still... right now, it's atleast protected... imho, i think it should be kept that way.

i never really thought about this mod on a cai. it seems it would be a bad idea though. i did this on my old eclipse so my intercooler could get more chilled air. actually my friend with his integra took the entire wheel well lining off so he gets more air. the only bad thing that has happened to him so far is at the track a few weeks ago he was warming up his tires and he got rubber shards from his tire all over the rear of the filter. yeah i would say its a bad idea.
