Unhappy 2022 Mazda 3 2.5L (engine temperature)

I have owned my new 2022 Mazda 3 for a few weeks now and still under 100 miles. From day one, I have noticed that the engine temperature guage never gets to mid-range. It does get within about 1/16 of a inch but I am not used to this since my previous Mazda 6 always got to the center-line on the temperature gauge after driving for about 5-10 minutes. Also, last night driving home in outside 25degreeF temperature, the temperature gauge increased very slowly. After driving for about 20 minutes, the temperature guage only reached about 1/4 scale. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their 2.5L engine Mazda 3? As an old car guy, problems like this usually indicate a problem with the thermostat. But this is a brand new car! Any advice would be most appreciated.
