Question Transmission Fluid Change Questions

Hello all,

I have a 2005 manual Mazda 3. I have checked the owners manual and I am in need of a transmission oil change. I have watched some videos and it seems pretty straightforward. Just a few questions

1) OM calls for 80w-90 when temp is >50F. I live in Orlando, FL so that is 95% or more of the year. However, this car started in FL, went northeast for a couple of years then came back to FL. I am wondering if the old fluid being 75w-90 could cause any problems bc I doubt I would get all of the old fluid out.

2) Videos I have watched say to refill until fluid comes out the fill hole? Is this correct? I assume so since there is not a transmission fluid dipstick.

Thanks for the help!

Did some searching and it seems like using the heavier weight should not be a problem, and you do fill it until it starts to come out from the fill hole.
