I have a problem and it's getting very annoying. I put the car in 1st and it will stay in first but the shifter lever goes back to the neutral position. It does this for every gear and I don't know if it's a gear box, shift bushing, clutch problem or anything else. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank You

 

When you put it into first, do you start driving? Is the 1st gear engaged and then the actual **** shifter (physically) falls back to neutral?

Have you tried holding the **** while this happens? Does it feel forced or more like a gravity/momentum thing (like falling into place) or is it being PUT into place?

And when it falls back, you are saying that the previous gear it "was in" is still engaged?
