I recently bought a Used 2010 mazda 3 and the dealership i bought it from (not a mazda dealership) only gave me one key anyone know what information i need to get another spare with the clicker thing and how much they cost. I looked in the owners manual and it said there was something on the key with a code on it and i need that to get a spare i just know i am notorious for loosing and misplacing keys and need a spare plus i live 250 miles from the nearest mazda dealer.

 

The vin # should be enough for the dealer to look it up - a phone call is cheap and they can tell you what you need to have.
I think the dealer can use any mazda smart key, make a copy of the physical key by grinding, and then your owners maual should have instructions for programming the new key to be accepted in the ignigion....
There is an instruction for the remote FOB, but think there is one for the key itself too.
