Its Been Awhile
Well- I havent posted on the site in awhile. Sorry- been busy with the other cars. Just thought I would drop in and post some pics.
We recently finished up our autox season. I was ahead in points with My LS/VTEC Integra for Street Modified Class which was honestly the most competetive class in my area. Well I had some issues with the Teggy again and rebuild time came again and Took the Protege out for the last 2 events. I through it on some Race Rubber and still took second in my class for the event and cemented myself in as SM Champ for the SCCS.
One pic will work

Picture is fixed...
PS- 1st place was a 2006 BMW 335i Twin Turbo on Falken Azenis
There were 10 people in my class and I took second with an Automatic Protege. I love autox'ing.
I took 20th in the overall out of 61 drivers.

Well - I am not using spacers.
Background- I have Nitto NT01's for tires. I used them on my Integra. Well when I tore down the Integra I had gotten so used to the race rubber that the Street tires on the Protege didnt do the job real well. So I bought a set of American Racing wheels for $150 from a friend just because they were the correct bolt pattern- 15x7" rims. I through took the race rubber off of the Teggy which I had on Axis Maglites and put them on these rims.
I am on Stech springs with stock struts. AWR rear sway bar, and adjustable endlinks. It has a cold air intake and had a axle back exhaust. I took the axle back off.
That is the car in a nutshell- My Integra is undergoing a quite intensive change so its going to be down for over a year. Therefor I am going to put some work into the Protege and race it most of next year. This year because of number of cars that were showing up I would have been in DSP after being bumped. Next year I will probably just run in DSP. When the teggy comes back It will be an EP car.
PS- watch yourself with Mods- Street Modified is not so fun of a class- hahaha

congrads! .. now um.. whats w/ the "3"? tape ftl!
tape pwns your vinyl!!!!
I <3 tape.
Foxxxy the car looks awesome! Proteges look so great in white, even better when they are race-prepped and out having fun!
I feel the pain of being in SM. Cams, underdrive pulley, and CF hood put me in SM, so I added a turbo to compensate but now I feel like I'm learning less because the car just has a crapton of power so whenever it's straight I just make up for my pathetic skills elsewhere (aside from slalom, that's one thing I'm really good at). I'm not going to undo $6000+ in mods just to run in a lower class.. I might just detach the wastegate or something and run boostless so that I can learn to really handle the car more.

Street Modified with the Integra is fine. The car is fast enough and handles well enough I am not too worried about it. I was having some fuel tuning issues and decided to step to a AEM EMS. Well seeing as how I am going that far I decided to build the bottom end, and bought an essembled head and going to run some Aftermarket cams, and then putting a cage stripping the interior- really name it. I am building an EP Integra. In my area- the fastest cars run in this class...
The Protege is getting a Roll Bar and rear cage. I have some new parts coming and then plan to build the motor to a little healthier status and then plan to run this at some point in the Sand Hills Open Road Challenge. A few friends of mine competed this last year in a Silverado ( his car broke the week before the event- DAMN DSM's) and finished really well- so I have decided to build the Protege for that.
I am sorry to talk so much about my Integra- it really is my baby. The Protege is my Wife's car and I use it as a backup car for the most part, but I plan to buy her a CX7 in the next year or two so I can take the Protege to the level I want it.
I must say- I am not disappointed with the Protege at all. In fact find myself loving the car more and more. It handles so well and on Race Rubber the car is seriously impressive. It just sticks and rides.
