i bought the car from
Brandon Kauffman [akauffman2@hotmail.com]
dude total ripped me off, I already had to change out the "new" trans he put in the car. It blew up 60 miles from my town. several reasons one of being that the axle on the passengers side still had a axle seal on it from the last tranny and wouldn't go all the way in. looking from the top it was hard to understand why it went back together and bolted up.
well the broken motor mount turned out to be the complete steal brace across the bottom of the engine was not bolted down. engine just hanging funny when i looked at it, it all looked as if it was bolted up.
Both front ball joints are bad but even funnier neither had a nut on the end of the bolt that keeps it secured to the hub.
one of the tie rod ends was mushroomed on the threads because he tried to hammer it out. he never put a nut on it.
so i converted the b8 harness to bp and installed the spare bp engine i had. i am a little let down that i didn't do a little more research or i would have bought some lower end bearings and put the b8 crank in the bp the guys at club protege says its 8 lbs lighter.. I also have a lightened stock flywheel where i had the wight on the back taken off and a zoom 4 puck clutch
This is my wifes car. But she wants her escort gt turbod and i figured it would be cool to show her what a few cheep mods on her NA motor could do so she would realize a turbo family car isn't a good idea plus I'm sure a few light weight mods can get me a little more mileage when on the highway
