more stopping power

Ok so I would like to upgrade the brakes. Now I haven't done any major engine mods to really need the stopping power, but I have noticed that sometimes when I drive hard I would need to come to an acute stop and sometimes I hear this wierd kind of noise and the brakes don't hold properly. Could this be the ABS? If it is, it really scares me sometimes!!!

I'd basically like to get bigger rotors; drilled; is slotted recommended as well?
Also a set of brakes, preferably a bigger set to match the bigger rotors. I'd need 4 rotors; front & rear and 4 brake sets; front and rear because I have rotors in the front and rear and my car is a 4 wheel drive.

Could anyone shed some light on this?

It's tough with your model.....most people on here are going to know about parts for North American models......

let me get this straight...you have a 1.6L with AWD and 4 Wheel disk brakes, but its 4 lug ????

You have to learn some jappannese and buy that stuff for the jdm pros. We really cant help you. Unless you luck out and some stuff is the exact same.

The main problem you are going to have is that North American 4 Lug protege's do not have 4 Wheel Disk Brakes, or AWD.....The only way for you to be able to buy the same aftermarket parts as North American pro's would be to upgrade to 5 lug, and I dont know if the rear spindles would even work....

As stated previously, you need to look at JDM stuff, as you basically have a JDM Protege

Yeah mine is 1.5L. It did come in the 98 model but we get them in the 99 model too. There is also a 1.3L 99 model.

Thanks for the advice!
