Hey thanks!

So far I've got the TWM SS, exhaust and cai and I'm very happy with how it is. Don't think I'll be doing to much more to it performance wise. But next is probably the AWR front motor mount. Though I'm not so sure about it, reading about how it makes idling very ridged (or something to that effect.)

(and yes i know i could've picked up the ebay cai for a lot less but i managed to get the injen for a really good price from a dealer looking to unload their protege aftermarket stock)

The RB is a fine piece....but mine sounds like a ricer-fart-mobile with my header & no cats.

i ran it down the block once before installing the cai and it had a subtle deep sound to it. it's not as quiet now with the cai, but it still has a nice throaty sound. it's not all that loud though, which is good.

not much rice. more oem plus, i think.

That looks pretty spiffy! The RB one is the only one I've seen so far that doesn't have an echo-can muffler. Plus they actually have dyno results posted on the site (decent ones at that)!

I'm looking at both the RB exhaust and Injen CAI. What do you think of the performance?

The mount is something I might do right away. That car has wicked drivetrain backlash. They definitely add more interior vibration from the engine, but doing just the front shouldn't be too bad.

I've got 3 of 4 poly mounts installed on the VW and it's pretty rugged. But with all 4 the CD player wouldn't even play!

Thanks for posting the pics!

the performance increase was pretty good. i mean it's still a protege, but the throttle response is great now. i'd guess the gain to be around 8 or so hp, but it could be more. well worth the money in my book anyway, as the car is that much more fun to drive now.

i'm still thinking about doing the motor mount(s.) just have to find a good source in canada for them.

oh i've since moved the coolant reservoir down lower in the engine bay. the stock placement from injen is pretty wack, being held on with just one bolt on a flimsy piece of plastic. i'll take some pictures of the new placement sometime soon.

looks great. Do anything else under the hood? It could sure use a good header and powdecoated valve cover.

thanks! nothing under the hood other than repositioning the coolant reservoir. i've gone back and forth on adding a new header, but the additional noise keeps me back.

here's what's been done (pretty much in order):

twm short shifter
shifter bushings
racing beat exhaust
injen cai
10 window tint (35% front, 20% rest +sunroof)
3M rock guard (bumper, hood, mirrors)
lit protege5 door sills
tribute intermittent wiper arm
oem electrochromatic mirror
tokico illumina struts
eibach pro kit springs
17" wheeeels
