Does this sound right?

I was on my way home last night when these two guys came flyin up behind me. One in a base neon and the other in a jetta. Speed limit is 50 and it's 3 lanes wide. These two were doin about 65. Well, the light turns red and they take the center and right lane. The car next to me ends up turning, so I get in the left hand lane. I rolled up next to the neon and gave a heads to the driver. He looks over at his friend and then back at me. Light turned green and I wasted em. I couldn't believe it. The neon was several cars behind me. And I also had the jetta by a few. Then of course, they did the little racer "flyby" after I handed it too em.

Does that sound correct. I mean, I expected to beat the neon, but not really the jetta. It wasn't turboed or anything, but it didn't look base model either.

I drive a 2000 1.8 ES with a CAI and automatic trans.

If the jettas not turboed you are looking at one slow and heavy pos, depending on the year it would be a sohc 2l with like 120hp that weights an ungodly amount. The newer generations are slow as ****.

The neon however should have at least put up a good fight/owned you, unless of course it was in 3 spd auto.

The jetta was prob. a 01-02, and I thought they still had some power. Oh well. The neon was more like a 95-96. I don't know if it had the auto, couldn't see his shifts in my rear view mirror. But it might have been.

yeah like they all said if it was one of those base jettas they suck the neon i dunno i've beat the crap outta one but my cars 5speed it also depends on the car to maybe they were in bad shape or maybe they were in good shape but the guy couldn't drive either way it don't matter you won plain and simple
