Angry I want sound!!!

Is there anything I can get besides an exhaust to get that nice roaring exhaust sound? I'm as short as hell on cash, so I'm just looking for a temporary solution... Sumthing less than a hundred bucks or so. Canadian... LOL, any suggestions?

With less than 100 bucks CDN, your pretty much out of options I believe if you are looking for exhaust sound...you could put some holes on your muffler, or take off the cats or the whole muffler haha...However if you want a cool intake sound when you rev, go get yourself a short ram intake...

So you want a nice farty go fast sound for less than $100? Take your muffler off, pretty much the same effect.

IMHO, loud exhausts are quite annoying and poinless.

find someone that has an exhaust like you LIKE>....record the sound of it...burn it on a CD......loop the sounds to play over and over....stick it in and enjoy.

:{D

or do like Blue suggested...that is about the cheepest exhaust system you will be able to get....but just remember....

you get what you pay for.

You can get an average muffler for maybe 60-70USD (dunno bout CDN) and have a shop like Midas install it on your existing piping for an additional 25 or so. Not going to help any in performance but will be louder. I did this on my old grand am with a flowmaster 50 series.

Get an intake, they make your engine sound awesome.

I agree with the intake sound, it's the sound that makes cars sound like real sports cars. The cheapest way to do this is to simply remove the intake plumbing upstream of the airbox (two pieces, one big one over the radiator, and an elbow mounted on to the airbox). Takes 15 minutes to do, and it sounds oh so fine when your done. The difference in sound is really huge. I ran like this for a while, but put it back on for fear of ingesting water (I know, I get nervous easily)

Although this wont give you much of a horsepower bump, neither does a full cold air intake.

I have a welded on muffler...it doesnt give much if any HP, but does give you the sound (I'm going to get custom piping for a 'custom' exhuast soon ). Mine also came with a silencer, and the funny thing is that when I take out my silencer, my RPM's drop a few hundred...weird...

Well with a silencer in your exhaust you produce a little more backpressure, which can give a little more torque, although it is prob so small an increase you wouldnt even notice.
