question on stereo installation

question on stereo installation

i recently bought a 2000 protege and i want to replace the deck with the one from my old car. i was able to get the center console loose but not quite enough to remove the current deck. how do i get to it without breaking anything??

don't pull the console, jsut get 2 sets of radio removal tools, or look to the top of th thread for removal. you cna use a coathanger and it'll just slide rightout.

actually there is a cover on each side of the top of the radio. If you snap them off you can use butterknifes to pull the radio out. I did anyway.
