Recall

I went to mazda today for my 32000km maintenance and they replaced a panel underneath my car. I'm not sure what it was but they said it was a recall. So I just thought I'd let you guys know....

That's wierd...

My dealership says there hasn't been any recalls. Also, there's nothing on alldata.com.

I don't know man. I even have a number here for the part.....BJ0J-64-280-65. whatever that is. They replaced it free of charge.

No problem. I guess since I'm a chick they didn't feel they had to elaborate on what the part was exactly. I should have asked. I just thought it was a recall and they replaced it, worrying over. Then I got half way home and wondered what the hell it was exactly.lol. As long as I could let you guys know about it.....

I'm coming due for my 32,000 km service soon. If anybody finds out what this is, I'd like to know as I wold like to ask about it when I bring my car in.

I just sent my dealership an email to inquire about the part. I will hopefully know more tomorrow.

It's probally an "unofficial" recall or even a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin)...

ok, I finally got a message back from my dealership.....This is what they said.......regarding your
question about the panel replaced under your car, its
not really a recall , its more like a part under
warranty , its a trim panel (plastic cover), has no
affect on the vehicle , no ideas why they replaced it
, but consider it as a freebie , has no electrical or
mechanical use. Hope that answers your question.

I only live 7Km from my work and I don't do alot of long distance driving. I've been to Toronto and Wasaga Beach and thats it. Pretty good I guess!

My 2002 P5 should feel lucky... it's just passed 11K. Mind you, that does include some time on the racetrack.
