Import Showoff - Calgary

 

I will 100% be entering Import Showoff with Silent Rage/CPC if there are enough of us to stay together as a group.

 

Justin, what do you mean by "if there are enough of us ..."? Anyone else already signed up? What's the requirement & how much does it cost?

 

$17 bucks admission??? Thats a bit steep. I'll probably go, but damn, unless I get something free, I'll be very disapointed....hehe

 

I'll be there to spectate. Car's not worth showing off yet.

 

Plus don't you have to leave it there all weekend?

Orange, pr5owner and myself discussed our next meet at SCN, and we thought the best time to have the monthly meet was at Import Showoff. What do you guys think? It's next saturday.

 

Well, as you know I'm without my Protege for a couple weeks, and wakeboarding season is drawing to a close in another month, so I won't make any promises. I don't even think I'll go to Import Showoff...

 

$17 is way to steep. As was $15 for the one at Telus convention center. Should have been more like $5, wasn't much there and the lighting sucked so you could hardly see half the cars and their parts. I went to a show in Cali years ago and damn it was huge and entertaining.

 

The size of these showoff in Calgary is definitely small compared with other larger cities. I am surprised that car clubs don't show up at all - all the booths are related to vendors/manufacturers. Plus there are only so many cars in & around the areas to show. Some of the ones at the Sports Compact (the one at TELUS Conv. Ctr) also showed at WoW. The major surprise at Sports Compact was the Alpine RSX. (CSI used the same car in one show!)

We thought that we can meet towards the end of the Showoff. For those are going, we can meet up in the show. For those who don't want to go, we can hook up afterwards. (Em / Justin - How long will it take for you to get your car out of the show afterwards?) It will be our first late night meet?!

Any thoughts?

That's mighty nice of you Margeret, but like I said before, wakeboarding has kept me fro malot of the car stuff lately. I jsut pray my car is done for MITM!
