Mazdaspeed Protege turbo question

I was looking under the hood of a 03 MS Protege and the first thing I noticed is that all the tubing is PLASTIC!!! What a POS!! Why didn't they use aluminum?

Because its cheaper to use plastic instead of aluminum.

Actually... so it passes crash tests... aluminum might puncture the firewall At least, that's what they say over on Msprotege.com...
