Would bypassing this somehow improve power by allowing the air entering the engine to remain cooler until combustion?

I know for the winter it's a good thing to have to keep the throttle body from freezing, but in the summer, is it nessicary?

 

In the summer, no, it's not necessary. However, you would not notice any performance increase at all by disabling that setup.

I'd imagine it's one of those cold-engine driveability kinds of things. Not necessary, but it probably makes life easier for the first couple minutes. These things seem pretty grouchy when they're cold.

 

The warmer air helps the gasoline vaporize. That's probably more important in winter than in summer.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

 

I bypassed mine, but I live in Houston, where we don't have to worry about anything getting too cold. I think along with the spacers, the air entering the heads is a lot cooler. Just my opinion. Couldn't hurt to try. It's free.

Yep, i did it too. I'm also in Houston. Noticable gains..... no.
