steering problem

Lately when im stopped (in a parking spot or sumthing) and i turn the wheels im hearing a couple pops and knocks. same thing when i take off from a light also. i replaced by bearings, tie rods, swaybar endlinks, and rotors and brake pads about three months ago. my guess is this is related to my steering some how. but when it did it when i took off from a light i thought maybe a bad motor mount or two. any suggestions would help.thanks.

Mine does that too but i'm not too worried about that. I know many other 1 gens with that "property". I'm gonna check my thrust bearing too when it's time to change struts.

Check the power steering fluid?

Does it ever sound like "crunch crunch"?

Mine does. And it's not axles etc because the sound occurs only when the car is parked, not while i'm driving.

Unhappy

i had the same problem. What we found out was the person that had the car before me hit some thing and bent the lower control arm a hair. Not knowing that, the lower ball joint went bad really fast and it fell out. We put a new one in, then three months later it happen again. Then we replace the tie rod ends, axles, rotors, pads, and that still did not help the problem. Then it happened again. 3 times i had to stop the car with the lower control arm out sitting on the rim of the car and it was fun, little bit scary all at the same time. So then we asked around and we came up with the idea of replacing the spindle and the lower control arm and another ball joint. That did it, then i have not had try to stop the car again that way.
