When to go with MT-90?

My dealer suggested I wait till 10 000 Kms before I change to Synthetic gear oil.

It's fricken -30 Celcius outsided and I don't want to keep waiting 20 minutes before I can shift properly and not grind. I've only got 2000 Kms on it right now, by the time I get to 10 000, It'll be summer already!

BTW I've read numerous posts and have decided to go with Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil at 8000 Kms

got mine done @ 8500km as well as my clutch and preasure plate, was having the chatter problems disucussed on previous posts so told them to do the MT90 at the same time.
seems to shift alot cleaner(not as sticky) and has goten rid of the squishyness when you pull back or push forward on the stick.
have yet to se how it is when its realy cold.

Thanks for the info,

But what I'm looking for really, is whether it's bad to go with the synthetic gear oil after only 2000 Kms

Any takers? I want to do this monday unless someone foresee's a problem...

I don't think there are any problems with switching to synthetic from the get-to. As far as I know there aren't any parts in the transmission that need to set or seal properly like in the engine. (Even that is arguable).
