exhaust ?

i just recently put a new exhaust system on my car. i had 2.5" tubing from the exhaust manny back due too a spliting in the pipe at the manny causing a major leak. i also had a round style open race cat installed and polished muffler. my ? is what kind of mufflers and cats do you guys recommend cause i need to change this setup quick. my car sounds like a pissed off bee stuck in a folgers can trying to get out. and i'm pretty sure its to loud to be legal since everytime i pull in a parking lot i set off about 4 alarm by coasting through. i've had the muffler changed twice now and still can't get the right tone and quietness.

Bump down to a 2.25" exhaust and put your oem cat back on. 2.5" is excessive unless your running FI. Any muffler you choose will be fine.

Exhaust

I just got a new exhaust system put on a couple of days ago. I asked for a Flowmaster 60 series, but the muffler shop recommended a Turbomaster for me instead, even though they are a Flowmaster distributor. I do a lot of highway driving and didn't want something that drones at 60 or 70 mph. After a couple of days I am pleased with the sound, but you might think that it is lame if you want something that is loud enough to be barely legal.

I've got a Flowmaster 40 Series. It has a nice tone to it (meaning not ricey). I agree that 2.5" is excessive, 2.25 should be your max.

* David put the mic too close to the muffler so it sounds bad in the "revving" sound clip. Listen to the audio on one of the videos for a more realistic sound.
