BP Timing??

How do you set the timing on a BP. I am thinking about rebuilding my Moms BP (92 LX, same year as mine!) and was wondering what is required to set the timing?

I have rebuilt three 4.0L Jeep engines and am working on a fourth as we speak. On a 4.0 you cant adjust the timing. But obviously the BP is a much more advanced motor than the 4.0, so I am assuming its a little more complex. Which is why I ask.

I don't think rebuilding it is such a good idea if you don't have an idea how to set timing yet...
If you know, why dont you enlighten me and the other members of the forum????

oh man.. lol.. the pain
Or how about you????

I hope this forum doesn't become the mess that the eclipse forums have....

www.miata.net/garage/ignition.html

follow the instructions for the 1.6 - its pretty much the same. just ignore the idle rpm of 850; its 750 for us. and of course we have a distributor, in the location of *their* crank angle sensor.....

Very helpful article, thanks much protejay!!! It still a fairly simple set-up so it should be no trouble at all, I just thought I would check before I go taking things apart
