Hey guys ... I have a protege '90 ... (not LX)

I bought a light to put in the trunk.... there is a socket for it but it doesnt light up..... why ?

 

i would say either fuse is gone but more than likely ur wiring is whacked, you have to ask yourself one question do you really need a trunk light?

 

lol of course i need one.... cause here the light goes down at like 4h pm in winter.... and my work make that I need to see what I do in my trunk ... lol anyway, maybe the fuse isnt even there ... I'll check later thanks

 

My 91 DX did not come with a trunk light. I had the dealer add one at the 600 mile service.

It was a bit funny. I told the service writer that the trunk light didn't work and I wanted it fixed under warranty. He told me the car didn't come with a trunk light.

Highly possible that for your car the original owner added it on (himself) and didn't secure the electrical connections properly.

 

I have another wiring harness clip hanging down in my trunk besides the trunk light one. I have no idea what it's for

 

my hyper white license plate bulbs rock gets the unwanted attention. lol

this new altima drove crazy around me in the highway. guess he wanted to race. then he floored it. it didnt look impressive. haha i geuss weight plays a lot

anyway hope u get ur lights straighted out

 

It was prob the 2.5 Altima not the 3.5 the 3.5 liter is fast and runs liek a 14.8 or something .That sucks that they didn't give u Dx guys a trunk light WTF is that all about? lol ..Jon 93 lx

 

Yeah the SE's didnt come with em either...........but the plug on the trunk......I believe that it is for a spoiler (the light on it) even the models not equipped came with the wiring.

yep, I have to agree with David, its for the optional spoiler.

 

yeh my dad and my sister bought it new from the dealer off the lot.
