OEM Muffler Removal

I recall there is at least one person on this forum that drives with no muffler. I think it was on a Protege5?

Well, I just want to ask a few questions once identified.

Thanks!

I know silver (equinox) did for a while.....if you need to ask specific questions....go ahead and do so. certainly someone can answer them.

Sure will.

I had a straigh thru muffler with a brand name of Focuz. Way to loud on the freeway, even with the OEM resonator. So I took it off and put back the original muffler. I can definitely feel the diference from one to another. More low end torque with the OEM, but it does rev higher with the aftermarket exhaust.

My question is, how will the car sound with no muffler? What gains or losses would occur? I want something that won't buzz my brain on the freeway.

Thanks in advance.

If you didn't like the way your Focuz muffler sounded, removing the muffler completely will make you hate life. You need the back pressure from a muffler for low end power. Besides, who wants a car that sounds like they ate 10 bean burritos?

Um, a lot of Honda owners I guess. Wait, was that one of those rhetorical questions?
