mp3 decks
I have a pioneer premier series deck that can play unfinalized cds. It ran me about 320$ though. In any case I love it! ( The silver color also matches the console, always a plus.)

Since MP3 is data and not "music", I think most MP3 decks will play them.
Interesting question though. I will have to try one out on my Kenwood when I get the chance - I'll try both an un-finalized CDR and a CDRW, and let you know.
In a few weeks tho - I leave for my honeymoon Monday!
