why street racing is retarded...

well, earlier... i got a call from my sister because she was freaking out. as she was on her way to work, she was cruising with some Acura, as they were the only two on the road. out of nowhere, comes some stupid **** in a Supra and swerves between the Ac' and my sisters blazer (only maybe two car lengths between the two on a two lane road. The Supra was just being a dumb **** and doing around 100mph by himself, no one else racing him, but I consider this street racing anyway, because he was an import person and a few minutes later all his import buddies showed up. Oh yeah... they showed because he slammed head on into a Jetta who was turning into an apartment complex, but didn't see the retard doing a bill towards her after he swerved between the blazer and the acura. Luckily (and amazingly), no one was hurt. The Supra settled about a 1/4 mile up the road after spinning the Jetta around a couple times and the Supra completely losing control and hitting a pole about 7 ft off the street, taking out quite a bit of grass/dirt, and resting in the middle of the street with both the front and back ends gone. my sister called 911 and the police got there in about a minute. the girl driving the Jetta seemed fine as she was walking around and giving the police her statement, and the guy driving the Supra was fine as well as he was walking around looking at what he caused. So, this was really long... and the moral of this story is, keep it off the ******* streets and in a controlled environment or at the track. this is what happens when people get stupid about having a fast car and insist on showing off in places where other people can be put in harms way.

Angry

Personally, i think rice or no-rice, street racing is a stupid idea... all throughout my highschool life, atleast one person a year from my hs would die cuz of stupid driving... for those of you who haven't lost someone you know yet, TRUST ME... IT AIN'T WORTH IT!!!!
Everyone will do the "i have the biggest d*ck" contest and claim that since they're such a good driver it'll never happen to them, but that's Like protetype said... keep it to the track, that's where you can really prove if you've got skills...

as for

I know i am a big proponent of street racing but like i said before i do not agree with racing in city streets or even hauling *** on a city street. I think this guy is a dumbass that deserves to get his asskicked or made someone bitch in prison. I agree that this should either be in a track or out in the boonies were if something happenes you just hurt your own damn self. No matter were you are at going fast is going to have it bad moments even if you think you are safe at a track. I always hate to hear about someone loosing their life because of something like this but the fact is that going fast is a big risk and you have to be ready and willing to reap all the consequences that comes along with that adrenaline rush. Because of dumb ricers like that all street racers get a bad name, so the moral to the story is be careful and if you are going to go fast be prepared to reap a ALL the consequences of those actions.

I couldn't disagree with jay93dx more. Being prepared to reap what you sow is not enough. What if this moron had killed the woman in the Jetta? Even if the Supra driver was prepared to face those consequences, what about her? Other drivers and innocent bystander cannot be expected to reap the consequences of street racing, even if the racers are.

Race on the track, not on the street. That simple.

Too true. Sure sometimes I race people off the line, but not usually more than a block or so, and I keep it within controllable parameters. I just see who get to 5 mph above the posted speed faster The dude driving the Supra shouldn't have swerved around traffic, and that girl is lucky he didn't kill her. Gro Harlem is right he should have gotten a couple broken legs. Well, if we can find him, this can be arranged

Man, there is always a limit to everything. Everytime I hear a story like this, or watch police chases on TV, every f*cking time there is crash. I know it is not a common knowledge outside of this forum, but if you are willing to drive fast and then have make a turn or lane change, well guess what, you are out of luck. Most cars, at least those in 20-30K price range, will handle lane changes up to 60mph (stock). Going 100 mph even a Ferrari will lose control! I know I have said it before, but you have to know your's and your car's limits. Otherwise, sh*t happens, and innocent people get involved. That f*cker should go into prison, or at least be prohibited from driving for life. Its public trasportation for you, buddy!

turbonium959 is right. They should take away his license and send him over to the bus terminal to buy himself a shiny new loser cruiser card.

I think this said it all.
While some ppl have better judgement on street racing, some dont. There will always be that one in a crowd which just doesnt conform.

so even though i may know my car, that guy sure as hell didn't.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It's WAY too ****** easy to get a liscence in this country!!

People should learn to control their cars MUCH better and people who own RWD cars MUST take a course on back end control.... Same goes for SUVs, people should have to take a class to control thier mommyboxes....

So, you are saying that people who drive front wheel drive vehicles are safer drivers? Any vehicle, FWD, RWD, SUV's, etc all have their downfalls. Most of the time, that downfall is the same for all of them. The Driver. If the driver does not know how to handle the vehicle then they shouldn't be driving. I agree that it is too easy to get a license. I feel the laws should be:
1. Must be 18 to get license.
2. Must pass a defensive driver education course, similair to the ones police officers must take. This is to teach the drivers how to handle the vehicle in any situation. And it must be taken every 5 years.
3. Must be retested for license every 5 years, up to age of 60. At 60 and up, must be tested every two years.
4. If you are caught DUI or cause an accident due to reckless driving, you lose your license for 5 years.

There are many more, but this is getting long. It just bothered me that you would classify RWD or SUV drivers as more unsafe than FWD drivers.

NO NO NO.

I have a RWD car, moron. And i'm prolly one of the best drivers in my little city. I'm just saying people like that ****** supra owner woulda been better off had he known how to CONTROL his vehicle.

It's just that on city streets, oversteer is more dangerous than understeer.

If it was my world, NO car would be FWD....

MORON, RWD is the SUPERIOR form of drivetrain configuration. I can handle my car MUCH better than other FWD cars i've driven --ESPECIALLY in the winter.

someone's a tad moody...

Rider69, agreed.
though i must say that i've taken "driver training courses" and nothing can compare to plain 'ole expierence.

i think that aggressive driving shouldn't be promoted, but what burns my *** is that cops don't seem to recognize that the passive drivers are the ones that also need to follow road rules, and cops need to enfore that. most aggressive drivers were pissed off by some yahoo that doesn't realize they're blocking the flow of trafic by driving in the left lane slower than the posted speed limit. most poeple recognize that it is safer to "go with the flow" of traffic than to be an obstacle, and if you still insist on being that obstacle, get the hell on the righthand side!

unfortunetly, i've had a few friends die from reckless driving, though i honestly can say it hasn't stoped me from pulling a few stupid moves in my time. i've been in near fatal accidents myself, and maybe age will mellow me out. i don't think that any amount of rules and higher standards will eliminate reckless driving. it's human nature to want to push limits, and we make pretty rash decisions not considering our own lives or others when we take that corner at mock 10.
