I've never understood the lure of 1/4 mile racing. Other than the launch, where does the driving talent come in to play? With a big enough budget, NASA could train test monkees to drag race. Either your car is faster or it isn't, and there's very little a driver can do to compensate for it. Straightaways are for fast cars. Curves are for fast drivers.
