I didn't think my car was the fastest thing on the road when I got it. It wasn't. I just felt inclined to let you know that theres no way a stock protege can beat a stock mustang. A whopping 1.3 seconds apart on the 1/4. Even with a horrible driver I'd still give it to the stang.

A Protege owner on your site only ran a 15.4 with a shot of the bottle. Anyone see a problem with protege's "raping" stangs?
Ahhh, but you forget that that is only on the straights! On a REAL road with twisties and such....well, you know! Now with a Vortech, beware protege owners on the straights!

These are prime examples why I hate "Kill Stories" in every forum, they are immature.

I'm raising the BS flag to you too. I just can't see it happening. You have an intake. Nothing else. As far as I'm concerned your car is still stock, with the addition of all the stereo equipment weighin you down.

VortechStang and others, welcome to the site, sorry you came here under the wrong impression.

If you don't like kill stories, why are you here in this thread? Why do folks find it hard to belive that a car with less power can win? Think about it, there are many factors that account for when magic like this happens. I am not gonna go into all of it, but remember, I said that the guy was BEHIND me! He could not take it into the twisties! Kinda funny that all that torque did not help him. He no doubt could really leave me if it were a side-by-side race...for a while, but the mustang is overated, and over weight. Sure it is faster than me, but speed isn't everything.

ay yo

I have a v-6 and i havent gotten raped yet

My friend has a protege a 99 and man I raced him... IN STOCK FORM. I beat this kid by like 4 lengths and I have an automatic.

bottom line is that a protege is a nice car comfortable even but its not meant for drag racing a quarter mile LOL

Its meant for a nice cruise through town or a long road trip beacuse of the awesome gas mileage (something like 33 mpg) now most v-6 stangs are the same deal except a sport look. Now I have taken my v-6 and supercharged it. I have still to this day not seen even one protege souped up other than normal rice exhaust.

Anywho just wanna shout out say that proteges are not bad cars, but they arent as fast as stangs i am sorry unless you put 7-10 k in the biznitch

Yep, I did say that they are faster, but that isn't everything it takes to win a race. The ones I faced could not hang on the curves, or above 115 MPH.

thats when you upgrade suspension, how does some takico shocks and struts sound

I truly believe htough any car can be modified if the owner has the cash and the will to do it.

True. I concur How about stiffer springs, and a lower profile? Or tires that stick like gum?

How about you stop trying to act all big and bad like I was trying to prove YOU wrong. Who started this thread? Catchme. it was meant for him.

Why do folks find it hard to belive that a car with less power can win?
Once again stop generalizing. I would have no doubt about your possibility to beat him with your mods. But I specifically stated that all he had was an intake and heavy *** stereo equipment.

If you don't like kill stories, why are you here in this thread?
When someone doesn't like something, they voice against it right? You obviously didn't like my post so you voiced against it. I'm not asking why.

I believe kill stories about street racing are GAY, G A Y. This will sum up 90% of racing stories: Car A was minding it's own business when car B throws a rev and wants to play. Car A doesn't acknowledge car B and drops 2 gears to get the jump. Car B not knowing when things were starting drops two gears and catches up with car A. They laugh as they pass car A. Car B shuts down cause it has obviously won the race. Car A does a ricer flyby, throws on the hazards cause it now believes it won the race with it's top end power. Car A and Car B wreck and both die realizing they were dumb for racing on a street, or car A and car B both get pulled and their liscenses revoked for the rest of their lives. 2 less stupid people on the road.
