Protege5 vs CavalierZ24

My wife started talking **** one day about my P5, and started saying that her Z24 could spank me! I was like hell na! I dropped her off at the house and she got her car. (I knew there was a chance she could beat me, but my baby has a big heart!) So we go at a light, and I anticipate the green light and hit it perfect.( If I didnt get the light as soon as it turned green I knew her fast revving 2.4L would take me off the line. Bad! Anywayz, I pulled on her pretty good, but at 2nd gear she was right next to me! I was redlining my baby at every gear, but the cavy just kept pulling on me So she gets me by like a car length. The same stroy happens at the next light on the feeter. So we end up on the freeway going at it. Shes ahead of me by about 2 car lengths, until I hit 4th gear, and then I start pulling closer, and closer till shes next to me. As soon as we hit about 110mph, her car just flat out stops, and cant go no more! I just fly ahead and kick her ***! Thats about the only thing I can be happy about, her car cant pass 110mph. So her car may still be faster at the quarter-mile, but I can still say I kicked her *** on the top end.

ok, so maybe the "Zee" is faster at the quarter mile. Have any of you ever driven a J-Body? I might quote Consumer Reports here: "Consider the Cavalier as basic transportation only....handling is ponderous..." Ponderous doesn't begin to describe it. It feels like maybe you're driving a bus. I swear they also completely isolate the steering wheel from the rest of the steering mechanisms--no road feel here. Very strange (and unpleasant) driving experience. I cringed when my parents took me to test drive a Sunfire (also a J-Body). I told them that I don't like those cars, but they wouldn't listen to me anyway. Well now I have my Pro, and the world is a better place.

Man! I know what your talking about. Her car is made of very cheap and light weight material, thats why its so quick off-the-line. The suspension, steering, and the feel sucks! Then I drive my P5 I feel alot more control in the car. But it doesnt matter, I take the 2.2L J-bodies, and soon enough ill be taking the 2.4L! Just give me some time J-Bodyiss:

was the Z24 auto or stick? not trying to be a dick, but did your really win if her car is speed limited to 110mph?

Yeah it sucks bad! Shes stock right now too, besides the coilovers. And on top of it shes ordering the Pace Setter headers, and she'll be taking her car to a shop Friday to put 2-1/2in. piping with a Magnaflow Exhaust. And! next week shes ordering AEM Pulleys. So im kind of screwed right now in trying to keep up with her.

Trust me, I've thought about it several times But i dont know if im ready for nitrous. Im afraid my baby wont like it running through her system But if thats what it comes down to, thats whats gonna happen. And then you'll be right, i wont have to worry about those damn Z24's.
