P5 Sprayed but still bit the dust..

I was on my way to see my new baby girl this morning and I was sitting at a light listening to some music, not very loud, windows were down (no AC rightnow). I see this P5 coming up on my pretty fast and im like, "wtf? This is a red light". So he stops next to me F&F style with the E-brake. He goes, "wanna race?". I was baffled, it was 7:00 am and I was drinking my coffee. I agree. I see him reaching down playing with something, then he goes, "ok ready". Soon after, the light turned green. We launched, but I didnt go full throttle, and he was next to me then all of a sudden he jumps forward and white smoke out his exhaust, so I go Full throttle and fly by him. At the next light he was like, "wtf?!?! How did you beat me? I have NOS!" I told em he was a disgrace to the Mazda community and should go buy a Honda He didn't take it too well, and he peeled out and took off. Btw, I was in my civic, not my accord

I agree, even though it is a mazda, he still needed to realize that NOS doesn't make you the fastest thing on the road, by far.I wonder if he realizes that NOS voids warranty on his motor?

Some people who drive Protege5's in my area are idiots. They think they drive the fastest thing on the road.

Have fun with the car, but don't have that riceboy attitude.

Whats in the beast I call my own?

H23a block, H22a (Vtec) head. Greddy T-88 Turbo. Full Internal port/polish/replacement. Bored out my throttle body, 3" downpipe, straight 3" to the back (no cat) and a 5Zigen Fireball muffler at the back. HKS Racegate, A'PEXi AVC-D Boost controller. God I can go on forever. I tried my best to replicate a hatch I saw in an old "Turbo" magazine, however it was done by drt, and I would rather not take my car to them (out of state) to tune. So I didn't go with drt products. 600+ hp isn't bad for the setup, running 20 lbs of boost. Its a great car, on slicks the best I have ran is 9.5 in the 1/4 mile at 160mph. Its very fast, and no I am not a professional Drag Racer, I dont have the time nor money to trailer this car to race after race and pay for expenses.

I dont see it often, lets put it that way Considering its not a daily driver, and the engine is built up strong enough to hold it, its good. I run 20 psi at the track and if for some reason I decide to take it out I lower the boost.

yeah, they are. i bought the 1.5 first then i started reading about how good the 1.8 bp engines were. i got the bug and had to have one. the 1.8 manual models are hard to get even here but i managed to find one. so now i have to be content just reading my copy of maximum boost till i save some more damn money.

my first car was a c-rx so i'm a bit nostalgic about hondas but i hated the amount of money i'd need to spend to strengthen the engine for a turbo setup. that's why i'm so jealous of yours.

torque is one thing Travis but i reckon if you wanna make it really cool your money would be better spent on a big aluminium wing and some of those really cool neon window washers!

hahaha, sorry.

Yes the money making these motors strong enough could easily pay for much better, but nothing is funner than smoking Vettes and Vipers at the Track I thought about a CRX when I was first looking into this, but I just couldn't adjust to the styling of it. I then saw this article about an H23a civic with an H22 head and a Turbo and I knew what I wanted to do. My next car, however will be more tame
