actually I didnt "hear" anything on a forum...Z-Docs is a local shop in Tampa..they sell/work on Z cars specifically-hence the name...he has a V-8 swap in a 260Z (and dont dare argue with me about the 260 part,that's what it is,I know way more about Z's than pro's)...I know the owner John and he runs 10's all day,no forced induction just a stock 350..granted it was rebuilt recently..**** I bet he'd let me borrow it just to shut you up...btw the V-8 isnt a potential swap,its been done so long that there are at least 3 companies that offer a swap kit,with motor mounts,tranny mounts,new rad,adaptor for you speedo and new driveshaft..its an easier swap than any POS honda swap

 

Rebuilt as in upgraded internals, actually put mods on it? I find it very hard to beleive a STOCK 350 can run 10's in that car. Better swap than any POS honda swap eh? doubtfully, when you start slinging Domestic motors around which already lack quality you run into more probs than you ever will with swapping honda motors. Also, seeing that you don't do any of your work your word means ****, you are going by word of mouth rather than experience I am going by experience, borrow his 260z if he runs 10's thats fine, I ran a 9.50 running boost, I can easily spray a measily 100 shot and drop into the 8's..I never was too good in math, but I believe thats 2 seconds faster than your 10 second Z with the stock 350

I thought we were talking about straight line racing I beleive that when your pushing 500+ Hp to the wheels on a car that weighs next to nothing (HP to weight ratio) you can run that time, hell I did it Stock for Stock I would hope a big block V8 could take on the 17 second motor that comes in my hatch Pissing contest? By far, you opened your mouth and started dissing my car, I am just stating facts.I would raise the BS flag on your 10 sec stock 350 in your 280z but Its not worth taking up the screen, I already have a badass car in my sig that takes up the screen

 

I think the v6 will have more tourque so that may give him a advantage even though he has a heavier car, mainly cause the 6 will have more stamina through the power band,,, i could be wrong but i doubt it

I dunno about the car in the straight road, but my brother's friends love it for its neutral handling balance and the ability to drift. Swap in a SR-20DEt and it makes for a great race car.

 

first of all its a datsun 280Z....there is no such thing as a Nissan 280Z...second of all....V6 who in the hell is talking about a V-6..the stock 280z has a straight,travis is talking about a an H22 which is a 4..the 350 is a V8 and the MX-6 is a 2.2 I4...V6 wtf???...travis,we'll obviously never know but I still think a 9.5 in an accord is B.S....if you run such good times why not get in on IHRA and run it...

 

hehe its obvious we lost them, 9.50 is in my civic, and the reason I dont professionally (sp?) race it is the fact I can't afford to trailer it across the country, pay for hotels,expenses,etc. I build these cars for fun, and thats all. I say we call a truce, no need in arguing about this. We are getting nowhere and just killing any chance of becoming friends Truce?
