Hell even thouse v6's are mean. If he was going at it im sure it would have been known thouse things are loud with a full exhaust. A buddy of mine has one its faster then alot of things on the road.

Although he did get the svt v6 any idea what thouse have that the normal ones dont. Its not a cobra but did come with a very small svt badge on the back.

I have never seen a a male under the age of 20 that drove safe or smart...It's a fact. Why do you think our insurance rates are so high until we get married or turn 25 ????
thats not fair, i may not be a "good" driver on the track but at least i was a safer driver on the roads when i was in high school than most adults on the road.

and why do girls/women get lower rates than men? i've seen just as many bad female drivers as male. infact it was a woman that hit my car (while i was at work) and left the accident scene.

he got ripped off if he paid any more for it than a regular V6....all it was was a badge someone stuck on there. Ford hasn't made a "cobra" or specialty model that WASN'T a V8 since 1988.

your friend either got lied to or he's lying to you.....

Then you are not an "average" teenage male driver..Sorry most of them are idiots. Period.

I was..I freely admit it, then I grew up.

You are referring to women drivers making mistakes...that DOES happen...However most young men are all full of testosterone and EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE...this causes the worst accidents....I know you've heard of road rage. Be honest, does that more often involve a man or a woman ?

^ agree... too much testosterone... from what i can tell, men usually wreck "showing off" in some way... women wreck from "not paying attention"

i too concur, i read somewhere men get into accidents with other moving objects, while women tend to hit inanimate objects. still...i think if a woman hits a male, his insurance should go down to even the score

i think i have ran across the "Drive Fast Fords Slow" club... New white GT pulled up next to me @ a red light... reved his motor up a couple of times (it was 2 teenagers ) figured i'd see how bad i would lose... nope... left them too (only got up to 45 though haha) - they did do the "ricer fly-by" though.. then got in front of me and took a right up one of the back roads... - oh well.

You should have shown them the way up that back road. My experience has been most people with Mustangs only know how to press the loud pedal, you can have a lot of fun showing them up in the twisties. Not that they would ever admit it to anyone!

that back road only has 1 *bad curve* end to end... in fact it only has 3-4 curves... and it was a residential area (35mph) - now... if he would have turned on a road out in the country...

I know that this thread is a couple days old but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I was watching Rides on tv the other day. I found out that any old shmoe can take his bone stock run of the mill 05 stang and have Roush racing put a complete body accent kit on it and by the time they are done with it, it looks identical to a Saleen

There is a non SC version of the Saleen according to my husband- and a slightly modded MSP would have no problems keepin with one- even beating one with a less than average driver. All the non SC version has is a pulley kit.

maybe thats what he has? i havent seen him anymore... took it back? HAHA - went and looked on www.saleen.com

i assume this what u are talking about:

http://www.saleen.com/s281_3v_specs.htm

but....
Curb Weight, lb. est 3550 <----
Horsepower 330 bhp @ 5200 RPM <----
Torque 340 lb-ft @ 4500 RPM <----

still should have won... 3550lb / 330hp = ~10lbs/hp
mine... ~ 2800lb / 180hp = ~15.5lbs/hp

so... i dunno...

then again.. maybe the 20" wheelz slowed 'em down
