Angry Was This A Joke?

So, I'm at a light (Country Hills Blvd, And Shaganappi Trail, I was heading West on Country for those from Calgary...) Anyway, this kid about my age (17) rolls up next to me with one of his buddies in what I think was his Mom's 2002 GMC Envoy. I usually just tap my gas at some lights cause I like the sound of my car, and next thing I knew, he revved his engine, while looking at me. I looked over and he nodded. I saw the other light turn yellow, and set myself up for the launch. 2500 RPM, and just hold her. Well, it went green and we were both off. I have to admit, that damn thing with the 275hp Inline six, is a quick little truck, but still. Anyway, it was actually quite in my favor through first and second gear, but as soon as I hit 3rd, that damn guy started to really pull on me! I hit the flashers right away, and turned off at the next light.

I know my car is slow, but an ENVOY???!!! Man, I need more power! (Insert Tim Allen grunt here.) NOS ain't for me. Only babies use bottles.

Guess that's what I get for being a riceboy...

He he he... No, I don't have a system or anything overly heavy. I was running with one passenger and a full tank of gas at the time though. I suppose you're right. I did still win, but not by much that's for sure...

I'm not surprised. The new TrailBlazer does 0-60 just over 7secs. I read in either motor trend or car n driver. Thats a fast truck.

no offense to anyone, but y'all seem to be thinking trucks are all so slow, i personally had an 88 chevy C1500. and with that thing being 14 years old, packing a V6 with 167hp stock and only having Edelbrock headers and flowmaster exhaust (Lucky if i had anywhere close 190hp) I was running much faster than my stock pro5 is running now and it was much heavier. So I am personally not surprised that you got run by that envoy. Just spend some money and then you can rip in straigth lines or just enjoy the twisties.

Exactly. I never sleep on trucks. My friends Nissan Pathfinder runs circles around my car and the new Silverado is in the 7sec range also.

I work at a Chevy dealership, and the 5.3L Silverados are fairly average in the performance department... The 3/4 ton's however (with the 8.1L) haul some major ***! And, don't even get me started on the 6.6 Turbo Diesel...

Man I love my pro but I miss my truck, guys in HonDUHs constantly coming up on me and I would leave their asses and when they found out it wasn't a 350, they almost crapped their pants. Except when some *** would roll up at 50mph and expect me to run with them, i had a sport tuned automatic transmition that had to downshift like a **** and they wanted me to run with the 5 speed hi reving import, and what pissed me off more was when we got to the next light they looked at me and listened to me rev and would turn off like scared little kids.

I hate rice
