Did I win or lose?

If most of you dont already know I am active duty military stationed in Belgium, and in my opinion its Europe's porta-john

Me and my homeboy work the night shift 6pm-6am. Well a little after 1am we both had the munchies. So we take a few orders from people around the shop and head out. We usually flip a coin to see whos car we take. His B16 powered CRX or my Evo. But due to maintinence the Evo was at the house, and the P5 won the toss.

Its about 1:30am and and we are heading down town when we pull up to the BMW with 3 Belgian guys riding in it. We get to a red light and my homeboy looks at me and I turn to look and the guys in the BMW. I rev my motor he revs his. I know what yall are thinking a BMW am I crazy. But my odds were pretty good. I figured as long as it didnt say "M" on the back of it I was in good shape. Here in Europe there is like a million different motor packages from diesel to 2.0 4bangers..

The light turns green and we both take off. We were neck and neck in first but as soon as I went into second he let off. WTF!!! And I thought we had a good battle. Oh well .

i get that all the time....if people dont blow you away off the line they give up and act like they weren't trying. I had a similar incident against a v6 accord the other night. HE revved it up at me and had about 3 other pinheads in the car and when I launched I left quickly but didn't spin a tire or anything. I was a fender ahead when I went to shift into second. I ****** second and the tire breaks loose and I start pulling real hard on this v6....when I get about a car ahead of him he lets off and turns.....you embarassed him. 'nuff said.

you also win in the fact that you're active millitary AND you have an Evo and a P5!

question. who wins out of you and your friends b16 powered crx? I mean in your evo of course. My friend has a 1987 b16 powered crx and he calims to have walked all over an evo starting at 80mph. He says they both punch it and he walks the evo the whole way. I dont know if I believe him. But his story stays consistent.

Unless your buddies CRX has more done to it than the b16 swap I have to call bs. My friends CRX is 100% stock. It is Euro spec and came from the factory with the b16 and close ratio gear box. Now I have to give the car credit, that b16 aint no joke. That car has power all over the board. My friend and I race all the time weither its 8 or 80 mph start the Evo takes the gold. But I do have to say from about 80 it is close, but he has never pulled on me.

My "goal" is to get my P5 to out run the CRX. Key word is "goal"

I guess since he chickened out, you technically won.

But IMO, its kind of like winning a game of pool, because your opponent sunk the eight ball on accident before clearing the other ***** off the table. Not nearly as satisfying as you getting to sink all of yours, then hit the eight ball into the hole, while he is standing there with five ***** still on the table.

Good analogy.
With my buddies we usually just continue the game, placing the ball were it was racked, and the culprit has to buy a round of beers.

yeah I figured he was lying, that crx feels like it is doing wheelies when he hits it, that is the only thing that made it believeable. It feels so fast but his suspension is also shot so that is why it feels like it is wheelieing. But he is also running straight header on the street.

He just made you jump off the line to laugh at you...
Thanks to the wonderful torque that Honda blessed my b16, I usually play catch up off the line. It's all good tho, makes it interesting...
