well I can't rem what the car was, I think it was a 300ZX, cuz when I passed it the back looked like a 300ZX, but i didn't get a good veiw of it in my mirror

The thing is tho I was coming back from a jam, (Bash on the Beach @ Wild Water Kingdom) I was going about 110km/h it was an 80km/h maximum, until i came to some traffic, I coulda swirved in and out of it, but i just thought nah, so when I slowed down the 300ZX passed swirving around all the traffic. At first i was thinking that hey, he's going super fast, so I'll just go a little fast and the police will take him over me lol

but then somehow i managed to get infront of him, must have been traffic and such. So when he got behind me he flashed his lights at me and got into the lane next time, his cars front bumper was at my rear bumper. so then we started at about a 70 - 80km/h rolling start

we stayed exactly the same distance apart throughout the whole thing....we hit 170km/h...I got about another half a car length between us, but he didn't gain on me. it was pretty cool hehe, we got stopped by a red light, I'm sure that I woulda maxed the car at 190km/h (like I did Before) and he woulda gone further. But at the lights he turned down the highway and i just went straight.

It was cool tho cuz for the whole race noone seemed to gain

I think he was pissed so he went down the highway cuz my stock '99 LX pro kept up with his 300ZX and i gained a little.

but remember I'm not sure if it was a 300ZX cuz the back looked like it was, If you can tell me how many backs of cars look like the 300ZX then I can look up pics of them, and tell you which car it was for sure. But I think it was a 300ZX

i don't think that it was a 300ZX, b/c even if it was the non-turbo one it should still be able to take you, no offense but it is a faster car, especially if yours is still stock like it says in your sig.

ye thats why I'm saying I wasn't sure...I didn't get to see it much, and when I wanted to see which car I beat, he turned onto the highway!

seriously it wasn't bullshit, thats why I want to find out what car it really was, it had a sporty look, 300ZX style back.... but it might not have been a 300ZX, and most likely it wasn't

Also who knows the guy might not have been pushing his car to its max......I sure had the accelerator down and redlined the car all the way from 2nd to 4th (not sure if I redlined 4th can't remember)
Or it could be another teenager like me, but he doesn't know how to drive manual properly, so he's shifting at like 3000RPM cuz he's too scared to rev it higher or redline it, i dunno could be allot of explanations
But one thing for sure...this did happen

HMMM....also can neone tell me if the touring edition 99 pros had ne other fine tuning, maybe my pro is just a little more tuned cuz its touring edition (i don't think so tho)... because mine is a LX and regular LX's have 1.6l engines, but my LX has a 1.8l engine, the vin of my car even says it does, so it seems to have a switched engine, maybe more fine tuning could have been done??

Did it occur to you that maybe he wasn't going for you? I don't even think he was racing you. You just thought that he was. IF it was indeed a 1990's 300ZX, turbo or not, you would be toast if he were actually racing you. Maybe he was just keeping pace with you---which is probably the case. I wouldn't say that you kept up, more like he kept up with you. Honestly...don't go around saying that you went toe to toe with a 300ZX because everything in your story says that you didn't. You don't even know if it was one. By the way...when he flashed his lights...it wasn't a signal to race...he just wanted you to move. You were the one who wanted to race. It's annoying to see teens saying that they busted up on another car...especially a legend like the 300ZX. Give me a break. Take a nice nap and give it a second thought. How if God's green earth could a 122 HP Protege beat a 300 or 220 HP 300ZX? That's what I thought. If you beat a Civic or a Sentra or something realistic and it was positive that an actual race was going on, then alright. Until then, there was no race...just two cars on the road.

Possibly, Possibly, it coulda been a 240sx, but that woulda won too. The only nissan i can recall to have a similar back-end would be the old old school early 80's 200sx (now known as the sentra).

He was probably just a fast driver, and you thought he was racing....

With the 80's model of the 200SX, there really is almost un-limitless possabilities as far as modifications go. I've know people to drop in 280zx engines and slap on a turbo, with exhaust, intake, and gears, you have yourself a car that wil be able to beat, if not hang with alot (not all, but alot) of the cars on the road today....especially the honduhs .

I said i'm not sure if it was a 300ZX i'm just saying that the 300ZX is the closest car i can think of that had a similiar back, I said it straight up that i'm not sure, and that you all can reccomend ne cars which have similiar backs! so that i can do a comparison, and find which car it was!

one thing dzungh, I never said it was a full actual race, I never said I acknowledged it, he flashed his lights at me and got into the other lane, and just stayed my speed for a while, until i sped up, and he sped up, and thas all we did, the reason i said he was pissed off, cuz when we stopped at the lights after he gave me a cuteye, and then sped off down the highway.

I hate annoying adults who see a younger person typing **** and they automatically think the kid knows bullshit, and is allways wrong.

I've had one race in my life, and that one was against a civic, and I've posted that around, but i didn't post it in this forum cuz i knew people get cocky and **** and cuz I'm young, will start saying **** to me.

but cause i thought it was something pretty special for my car to have "stayed in front" of what i don't know ( but in my head closest match is a 300ZX) I posted it here

also StageIII_TurboZ, even tho there are so many mods for the 200SX, it doesn't mean that it has to have been modded.

Sorry I had to get so riled up, but damn hate it when ppl start going about how Ima kid and **** like that, I'm not a normal kid which goes after hondas and corvettes and **** like that, my favourite car is an RX-7, and I appreciate the RX-7 not only for its performance, but also for its engine (Rotary Kicks ***!!!) and its handeling, so I hate it when ppl just label me as some dumb kid who doesn't know jack ****, and is just into power power power.

I don't know if it was a 300zx but I do know I owned a 87 300 zx turbo.And stock it pretty much passed any car I wanted it to new ,old import or domestic.It was pretty quick.I have a pretty (Strong93DX) and I would never be able to hang with that ZX.
I have ate Sentras and Civics for dinner but I understand not to try a 300.

But who knows I am a pro newbie.
