BUT...On a roll, especially on the highway, a bike isn't all that great compared to a car because a bike has very little torque
Apples and oranges...most cars with anything less than 8 cylinders don't stand a chance against a modern sportbike. I raced a 93ish RX-7 on my bike starting at about 80 and he never stood a chance.

Correct

Also a 6cyl. turbo would do the job also

Maybe. But most of the 03 600 cc bikes are running mid to high 10s right out of the box. If you really want to be embarrassed try messing with a Hayabusa. My bike is rated at low 10s in the 1/4 @ ~ 135 but that's just numbers. Ever since I've had a motorcycle though...cars just don't impress me anymore...at least they haven't yet

A guy I know with a '99 Civic Si w/ Greddy turbo kit, 100 nitrous, racing block, and everything in between killed a 750cc Yamaha. But he has spent like $16,000 on this car the past six months.

Yamaha hasn't made a 750cc bike for a few years I don't believe so the bike was probably a little old. However, your friend probably could handle him pretty easily with all that stuff done to his car.
There really is no way to comapre the two. If you put the same kind of work into a bike as that guy did to his car then the outcome could have been different.
An example of a street legal bike you don't want to mess with

You're right. Comparing a bike with a car is really not a good comparison.

I still stick to my previous statement. Depending upon the driver, it is possible for a protege to beat an Accord but highly unlikely.
If anyone in North Jersey wants to run, I'll pull out the Accord and we can test out this factor
